This is a great way to teach children how to weave; however it produces a small potholder. In the photo, on the left is a potholder I made as a child. The potholder in the middle is one I made today using a more expensive kit with a metal loom and thicker loops. The one in the middle is what I was expecting. The one on the right is from this kit with thinner loops, plastic frame and a plastic hook. The colors of the loops in this kit are very pretty. Although my 8-yr-old granddaughter loved making the potholders and the "kit" certainly has a generous amount of "loops," the plastic frame isn't very strong and the loops really need to be stretched, and, as a result, by the time all the loops are put on in both directions, the loom is a bit lopsy-flopsy. Plus the little knobbies at the end of each prong kind of make it difficult to remove the loops when finishing the pot holder. None the less, my granddaughter LOVED this and was just totally thrilled to be making pot holders! ... show more
