This lumbar support pillow was by no means bad; it was comfortable and reasonably firm, and I like the fact it is relatively unobtrusive on a black chair. That said, the support offered by a mesh frame pillow (e.g., https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MZK2WJK) is a lot firmer; I'd go with one of them.

    • Near Perfect Seat Cushion
I got this cushion to place on my easy chair. I have had several back cushions over the years and this is my favorite one. It is a quality cushion and the cover is well made. It zips in the back for removal and washing. I never get too hot sitting against it. The cushion is nice and soft, yet it is sturdy and supportive (make sense?). It is a wider depth than other cushions I've had which is exactly what I wanted for my easy chair. Nice that it comes in different colors too although I would've loved a green option. I got the tan one and it's a tad brighter than pictured online, but I like it. Once I received it and tried it out, I got another one just like it for my desk chair. The desk chair is a regular upholstered dining room chair and I will say it's a bit too wide for it. But maybe it's because I also have a seat cushion on it along with the back cushion. At any rate it works anyway, and maybe over time it'll squish down a little. The back of it has an elastic strap with a buckle which keeps it from falling off the chair every time I get up. The strap is adjustable. The only reason I gave this cushion 4 stars is because the elastic has already stretched out enough to prevent the cushion from fitting snugly on the desk chair. (It should also be noted that the strap doesn't fit around my easy chair, but I knew it wouldn't when I ordered it). Nonetheless, the cushion remains on the desk chair back and mostly doesn't slip off the seat through the opening (it did happen once, but no big deal). Perhaps if the elastic was wider and made of somewhat less stretchy material, it would work better. Overall I really like this cushion and will buy another should the need arise. I bought the grey one, looks fine. I don’t have any significant back problems but the seat adjuster is broken in my work truck so I needed something to help with posture and position. This is not too firm, not too squishy just very comfortable. The extension really helps for fitting it to the seat. But you may have to go back and tighten it after initial use. Otherwise it goes from barely fitting to sliding back and forth out of position. It may be better for extended driving. I’m in and out all day, so it’s kinda a nuisance to get it just right. The fabric also catches on my clothes so that drags it sideways a lot. But I’m getting used to it and while I would have preferred a more seamless experience, I have definitely noticed a difference in comfort and posture while driving and throughout the day. If it helps I’m about 185lbs and 5’7” with fullness in the back. Someone slimmer might not have to fuss with it as much, but then it might not feel as supportive either? Update: Been using it for about a month and still love it! All the initial kinks are worked out and I swear my posture has improved. It holds up. I have to reposition occasionally but its not the nuisance I thought it would be. It’s extremely comfortable!!! Update: This gets better with use. It doesn’t bother me anymore. I use one of these in my car, a second on my computer chair and a third to move around with me at my house. I have had them for several months. I recently bought the fourth support pillow when I visited a friend in Florida. I was there for 2 weeks. About halfway through the first week, I decided to order the 4th pillow to use while visiting. It may work well but, once installed you haven't enough seat left to be comfortable. If you own a chair that allows you to move the back that would help. The quality, fit, and finish is very good. I was looking for a cushion with more support than I currently had w/my old chair cushion (Fellowes Professional Series Back Support, Black (8037601)) which worked well at the beginning, but provided less and less support over time, particularly for the upper back (you can go check it out to know why). One thing I had experienced with other cushions is that they could be way too thick in the middle to be able to sit comfortably back in the chair. Many were so thick (deep) that I was practically sitting on the edge of the chair. This product was recommended #1 by WireCutter (NYT review site), which is how I found it. I thought $30 was reasonable if it really lived up to the recommendation. This one seems to fit nicely and feel good in every respect. It's not too thick in the middle and gives nice overall support to your back. You can obviously move it up and down the chair back to fit your tastes. One thing I will note -- the dimensions listed in the images are wrong. It is not 1.38" thick in the middle, it is around 3". Also, I've seen some reviews saying there is only one strap? Clearly there are two, and it holds the cushion position well, no issues. It also comes with extension straps (see my image) so that even large chair backs can benefit. I dinged it a star because it isn't super breathable. If it's hot in the room, your back will get hot against it. It's not a huge deal, but thought I'd mention it. Also, if you read the WireCutter review you'll note that they thought this was medium firmness. I would say that's accurate -- it's definitely not super soft. It provides good support like it's supposed to, it's not soft like a pillow. Would recommend. ... show more
