Living in Texas, I am all too familiar with the variety of “cooling” products out there. And as a woman of a certain age, I am even more desperate at night to try all of them, lol! The cooling side of these pillows really is cooling. Not just, oh it won’t make you hotter trying to sleep at night, but actually cooling! The fact that they are soft and hold their form however you place your head just makes them that much more excellent. I have tried enough other brands to be confident that this will be my ‘forever choice’….love them even more than my bamboo ones that don’t smell even when my dog curls up on one. In fact, this past August, one of my older dogs kept creeping up near my head during the night and I thought he was being snuggly and cute, but it turns out even he appreciates these new cooling pillows and all he really wanted was to nudge my head out of the way so the he could lay his there instead. (Next time they are on a promo, I am soooo gonna get home one for his holiday present. I think he may even like it more than a raw bison bone) ... show more

I'm now using the pillow and the smell is not detectable in a pillow case, it is super comfortable. I used it for the first time last night and it was very comfortable. I'd give 5 stars except for almost 3 weeks of airing out before useable. Two hours in dryer as recommended did nothing to alleviate odor. The pillow seems nice and I would love to use it but it has an overwhelming chemical smell. I'm not sure why so few reviews mention it but it's really awful. It's got fancy certificates that it's safe but they don't help the smell. I did 2 hours in dryer, set outside for a week and have continued to air it out since. It's been almost 3 weeks and the smell is less but still there. All this has been done without cover on. The cover had a lighter smell and came out in wash. If I had known how bad the smell was I never would have purchased ... show more

Great pillows for the money. Super comfy and has a ton of support. If it’s too firm for you, then take some of the filling out! I have noticed that the “cooling” side is starting to fray and create these little polyester balls. Annoying and switched to the bamboo side. Hasn’t seemed to do that yet!
