  • Bakes up the BEST pies
I absolutely ADORE my pie pan. Yes, it is heavy but it accomodates my deep-dish pie recipes and let me tell you, it bakes my pies better than any other pan I have ever used - glass, metal, ceramic, WHATEVER! The crust bakes up crisp and isn't soggy ever. This pie pan is worth every penny!

  • Lodge Cast Iron Pie Pan
I now own 2 of these pie pans. These pans are great for 9" pans and are more like a deep dish pie. Bottom crust doesn't stick - comes out lightly browned, tender and flaky without pre cooking. Clean up is super easy - wipe clean wth a little warm water and towel.

  • beautiful pan
Wish it was an inch larger, but I did not take off a star rating due to that. Lovely pan. First time making pies in cast iron. Will never use anything else again. Beautiful crusts! Many other uses as well. Corn bread especially when you preheat pan in oven and pour some butter in before filling with batter. YUM! ... show more

  • Solid and great quality, built to last!
The size is perfect. It fits in my counter top oven. I use this cast iron to make mt]y cornbread in! I washed and scrubbed it once. I seasoned it and the cornbread pops right out. This is now dedicated for cornbread only. Great price and perfect size and puts a crust on cornbread like no other.

  • Perfect pie crust
I've used glass and ceramic pie pans for years but generally got a crust color that differed from the top color, not so with this one. When it arrived I used an oscillating tool with a sanding disk on it to even out the factory seasoning along the bottom and sides, just smoothing everything out. I used canola oil, wiped it down and put it upside in in the oven at 450 for an hour. After it cooled it was much smoother. I purchased two of them right before the holidays and couldn't be more impressed with the even cooking and wonderful crust. Initially I thought these were going to be too small compared to the ceramic pie plate I'd been using, but the apple pie recipe fit perfectly in it. I've always been a big believer in cast iron and should have bought these years ago. ... show more

  • As expected
Exactly as expected. Usual Lodge quality. Good factory seasoning. Also works as a β€˜press’, like for panini or other sandwiches, etc.

  • Easy seasoning, easy use, sturdy
I prefer cast iron and stoneware. Easy to "season" tge cast iron, making it as nonstick as all the newest cookware that have chemically-based nonstick surfaces. And this doesn't peel, flake or scratch and get ruined. Wipe the cast iron in oil, place on a cookie sheet with aluminum foil in a cold oven. Set oven to 400 degrees, leave it in for 1 hour, turn off and let the cast iron stay in the oven til cold again. Easy! And if something happens, just do it again! On stoneware, i clean it with Dawn. Before cooking with it, wipe good cooking oil on it, when ready to bake, DON'T put in a preheated oven-it will break. ... show more
