  • The best version of loctite super glue
Size: 2 Pack
I've used all different brands of super glue and Loctite glues have never failed me. Unlike other glues that dry up in the bottle before you even open the package, loctite super glue is airtight until you break the seal by screwing down the top prior to the first use. I've had bottles last over a year even after opening, meaning they didn't dry up even after breaking the seal. The cap works. This particular version of their gel super glue is not thick and has the perfect viscosity. Unlike some gels that are very thick this version isn't so it's easy to work with and you don't need to squeeze the bottle hard at all to dispense the glue. Great for precision work. A little goes a long way. I recommend this super glue over any other. There's not a lot in the bottle so I usually buy 2 at of time. I wouldn't mind a larger bottle but it wouldn't be good for detail work which most of the time is the case when using super glue for repairs and maybe it's engineered that way to prevent it from drying up. ... show more

  • I hate super glue. I hate this less!
Size: 1 Pack
Alright, so the reviews are legit. This stuff is great. I decided to give it a try because I absolutely despise using super glue and find most bottles are useless by the time you get half way through them. A lot of reviews claimed this design allowed you to use the WHOLE bottle! I was skeptical but as I've been 3D printing A LOT of resin models lately I figured I'd give it a go. Well, let me tell you. Functionally, it does as good a job as the Gorilla Super Glue Gel. Which is good because that stuff does a great job. HOWEVER, unlike the Gorilla Glue - that comes in a similar bottle BTW - this doesn't gum up? I dunno what kind of voodoo engineering they have going on but the glue dispenses, the tip doesn't clog and stays relatively clean. I'm not being overly careful or doing anything differently than I would when normally gluing but... I can tell you I'm past the point where most bottles die and it's still dispensing fine. That's enough for me! Super glue is inherently awful and difficult so anything that makes the process less painful is good! ... show more

  • Strong bond and has some flexibility!
Size: 1 Pack
It really does work. In lieu of a repair glue that is purpose built for shoe repair, I opted to give some of this stuff a try because I had read from others that the bond had worked quite well for them. The glue that kept the leather and rubber parts of my boots bonded to one another started to fail as they always seem to in the sections that have to endure the most flexing. Just to the nearest side of my pinky toes and balls of my feet the material always seems to delaminate if I have most of my boots or shoes long enough. Regular super glue to the rescue? Nope! It quickly cracked and lost its bond. E-6000? It is flexible, but no dice. The bond just didn't last more than a couple of days and started to peel off. Loctite's Super Glue Ultra Gel Control, as with any glue will require cleaning and prepping the surfaces to maximize bonding strength, so bear that in mind before you endeavor to do your own repair, but the bond really is strong and lasting, the applicator tip precise, the gel consistency makes for easier controlled application, and once cured, it allows for some movement that rigid cured super glue just doesn't. My point here being that it has lasted longer than anything that I've purchased from a hardware store. My boots are going on 4 months since using this glue and except for a small section that needed some touch up, the leather and rubber sections that needed repair are still holding together. As an aside, if you squeeze the sides of the applicator and it appears to be emptying out, you might try and squeeze toward the top of the section that you grip with your thumb and index finger to get a little bit extra. If you just squeeze the lower section, the remaining glue will move in its little tube closer to the opening at the applicator tip, and it may seem that the glue is finished when there's still a bit left, if you're squeezing in the wrong place. ... show more

  • It works like it is supposed to, but here are a few of tips:
Size: 2 Pack
This is the classic cyanoacrylate (super-glue) in a gel form. I use this on my pottery decorations to attach wire and it works fine. We also use this in our office model shop to build architectural models. Here are some tips you may find helpful: ***Use an accelerator (like Bob Smith's Insta-set) to help it cure faster ***If using it on plastics: It will not work on ALL types of plastics. This stuff will fog certain types of plastics and sometimes make them soft and sticky, others will not bond at all. If you are looking to glue plastic then do some research to determine the TYPE of plastic you need to bond then see if this type of glue is appropriate for it. ***Surfaces must be CLEAN and dry, free of oils, dirt, soap residue, etc to ensure a good bond. Use rubbing alcohol to make sure there are no oils left on the surface. ****Some smooth surfaces may benefit from being roughed up to ensure a good bond. ***Less porous surfaces may take longer to bond than more porous ones. ***Hold it down until set with the tip of a toothpick, wire or a pin to avoid gluing fingers together. ***I found that the tube (which is inside the bottle) doesn't last very long even if used in one sitting. I did discover that you may need to turn the plastic neck ring an extra bit to make sure you empty the whole tube. So if you think it emptied too fast - don't keep squeezing it - try turning the ring another half to full turn (with pliers if necessary) and you may get lucky and eek out a bit more - just don't squeeze while you are doing this or you will have a mess on your hands, literally. ***If you do accidentally glue something you didn't want to...There is another Bob Smith product that will help to break the bond called "Uncure." You may want to get some of this...just in case. It isn't as harsh as acetone and works better than regular nail polish remover (though in a pinch npr is better than nothing). Hardware store acetone also will work and is stronger than nail polish remover. ... show more
