Loctite Super Glue Ultra Gel Control is great for applications requiring high flexibility and works on a wide range of common materials including: leather, cork, paper, cardboard, wood, chipboard, fabric, metal, ceramic, rubber and hard plastics such as acrylic, polycarbonate, polystyrene and PVC. Loctite Super Glue Ultra Gel Control is Loctite’s most durable formula and forms resilient bonds that set quickly and fully cure in 12 to 24 hours. Loctite Super Glue Ultra Gel Control features a patented easy side-squeeze design that allows for Maximum control and precise application with no dripping or running. Recently picked this up for $5 on Amazon to replace my beloved shoe glue. I've had to fix a couple things already and I can already tell that the precision application head of the super glue is going to be a game changer. It cures fast and holds tight.     • Great gel glue. Easy to apply. does not dry clear but whitish.

Used Loctite Super Glue Ultra Gel to repair the lower tire seam near the wheel hub along the sidewall of my wife's car. My wife likes destroying alloy wheels by smacking into curbs causing Curb Rash. Could have blown out the tire if the tear was any deeper. I used the Super Glue Gel to push the tire rubber about 3-inch tear back into place. The glue turned whitish in color, not clear so I used a Black Permanent Marker to make the tire appear normal. Takes 10 minutes for a temporary hold and up to 24 hours before it is fully cured. This glue would be fantastic only if it dried Clear. Read directions and there are things you cannot use this glue on. I wore nitrile gloves just in case the gel got onto my hands I'm protected from anything sticking to my skin. Small job realized did not need to wear the gloves but you never know what could happen. ... show more

    • Strong bond and has some flexibility!

It really does work. In lieu of a repair glue that is purpose built for shoe repair, I opted to give some of this stuff a try because I had read from others that the bond had worked quite well for them. The glue that kept the leather and rubber parts of my boots bonded to one another started to fail as they always seem to in the sections that have to endure the most flexing. Just to the nearest side of my pinky toes and balls of my feet the material always seems to delaminate if I have most of my boots or shoes long enough. Regular super glue to the rescue? Nope! It quickly cracked and lost its bond. E-6000? It is flexible, but no dice. The bond just didn't last more than a couple of days and started to peel off. Loctite's Super Glue Ultra Gel Control, as with any glue will require cleaning and prepping the surfaces to maximize bonding strength, so bear that in mind before you endeavor to do your own repair, but the bond really is strong and lasting, the applicator tip precise, the gel consistency makes for easier controlled application, and once cured, it allows for some movement that rigid cured super glue just doesn't. My point here being that it has lasted longer than anything that I've purchased from a hardware store. My boots are going on 4 months since using this glue and except for a small section that needed some touch up, the leather and rubber sections that needed repair are still holding together. As an aside, if you squeeze the sides of the applicator and it appears to be emptying out, you might try and squeeze toward the top of the section that you grip with your thumb and index finger to get a little bit extra. If you just squeeze the lower section, the remaining glue will move in its little tube closer to the opening at the applicator tip, and it may seem that the glue is finished when there's still a bit left, if you're squeezing in the wrong place. ... show more

This glue is not like the old superglue that was runny like raindrops. This superglue is much thicker and it seems to work really well on the things that I have used it on which is why I’ve purchased three more. I also like the fact that you have to squeeze the two sides for it to release the glue.
