The charging light isn't bright but it'll let you know if it's plugged in and charging. With the usb output it allows multiple different devices to allow charging. Super simple just plug into your DC on your car and start charging. It's structured and it won't go any where. I do love that I’m not having to switch the socket for a different cord while I drive. Compatible with older vehicles, I have one in my 2001 suburban and it works great.
