The charging light isn't bright but it'll let you know if it's plugged in and charging. With the usb output it allows multiple different devices to allow charging. Very useful for apple users because of the two ports that it has. The quality of this is very nice and it sticks in the car very well. Very compatible with apple chargers and I guess you can technically charge your iPad and MacBook since it is compatible with that kind of charger.
