  • I love this thing
Color: Wisteria Pattern Name: Filter Pitcher
Sturdy and beautiful. It’s a bit heavy when it’s full but that’s because it’s thick glass. I love how it looks and my water tastes great. It holds more water than I thought it did. I understand it says exactly how much it holds but when you pour it the top empties out quickly due to the shape. The base is very wide though so it’s deceiving kind of. There’s plenty of water in there that lasts me all day, multiple days if I’m not super on my water intake for the day haha. Look, I don’t know what people are complaining about this pitcher filtering too slow. Does it come out as fast as your faucets? Obviously not. It filters faster than the stream of water coming out of my fridge though. I think the videos of it dripping painfully slow are when the reservoir you put the water to be filtered into is low. You have to put more water in to get the stream to start coming out quickly again. If there’s not a lot of water in there waiting to be filtered it’s gonna start to drip slowly. It seems pretty common sense to me. Maybe people just have zero patience. I wake up, take it out and fill it and set it aside. Start to do whatever I have to in the kitchen, like make coffee, clean, make food etc. In like 3 minutes of doing tasks it’s filtered the water that was in there. I put more water in it and just try to keep topping it off. All said and done it takes about 20min maybe to fill from empty. I’m still in the kitchen doing things. It’s really not a dramatic pain like some of these reviews are making it seem. Personally I don’t super trust filters where the water just goes through as fast as your pouring it in. Also I bet these are the people who pour themselves a glass of water from a water filter pitcher and never top it off before putting it back in the fridge. That’s all you really have to do. Anyways, I’ve had this pitcher for a little over a month now and I love it. ... show more

  • Top-rated
Color: Stormy Blue Pattern Name: Filter Pitcher
What with all the information coming out about microplastics in our water, and how they leach out of plastic water bottles that we've been buying in the supermarket, we wanted to pick up something better than our Brita filtering pitcher, which basically only takes out chlorine. When it first arrived, the Lifestraw pitcher, which is rated first on a number of web sites, it took a long time to filter through the water, but that was because the filters were new and dry. With subsequent uses, it filtered faster, though still not as fast as the Brita, but that's because it filters out more. We filter the water, then pour it into half gallon glass bottles that we keep in our frig. It works well, and the water tastes better. And it's a good buy for the money, too. ... show more

  • Slowly makes good tasting water
Color: White Pattern Name: Filter Pitcher
Good: This is more attractive than the other pitchers I've used, and nicer to have on the counter. The water comes out tasting good. And so far, tea made with the water from it is fine, although I haven't tested it thoroughly yet (only one tea session so far). I also like that I can fill it without having to remove anything or flip anything up--the little fill flapper moves down automatically when you pour into it. And I like that the purchase supports safe drinking water for people around the world. But: You can't see how close the reservoir is to getting full because it's not transparent. And you can't track the progress of water through the filter because the reservoir has no window and is not transparent. I have to push down on the little filling flapper to see how much water is in it. If you try to pour from it too soon after filling, the unfiltered water in the reservoir comes out. This is common in such pitchers, but again....most have transparent reservoirs so that you can judge when you can pour without this happening. The reservoir is only 2 cups, and the capacity is 10 cups, so you have to fill it 5 times for one full pitcher of filtered water. And, as many reviews have stated, it's really really really slooooowwwwww to filter. I am hoping that it will speed up a bit with time--this was hinted at in some other reviews. Other: Can't really speak to ease of cleaning yet; I do think the glass of the pitcher will avoid the algae/scratch problem that plagues the plastic pitchers--where scrubbing to remove spots of algae creates scratches that encourage algae growth. And preventing that on the plastic parts is probably why the reservoir parts are not transparent. But that does lead to it's own problems as stated above. I'll addend and revise this as I spend more time with it. ... show more

  • Fills a 12 Cup Coffee Maker Reservoir
Color: Stormy Blue Pattern Name: Filter Pitcher
With concerns about microplastics and PFAS in my tap water -- and not being able to afford a $300+ filtration system -- I ordered this. First, there are similar items on the market (but that don't filter as much) -- made of plastic. The main water compartment here is glass -- love it. Second, it's stylish and beautiful whether in the frig or on the counter. You could even put this out on the table with pride when you have company. (I ordered the Stormy Blue model.) Now for the hiccups... It doesn't process water all that fast. I had a Zero water pitcher before -- cheaper, faster -- but I don't use it anymore because this Life Straw model filters out more and better. I honestly don't mind the slow processing of my tap water when the quality, certifications, and reviews say this is the best you can buy in a pitcher water container. Having to pay more attention to refilling the tap water reservoir more often is a small inconvenience, considering the benefits. Also, Life Straw claims it's a 7 cup pitcher. This was a bit concerning for me, because my coffee maker holds 12 cups. Surprise, surprise. This "7 cup" pitcher filled up my coffee maker "12 cup" reservoir. I was ecstatic... I have no idea why they claim it's only a 7 cup pitcher. Overall, I'm very pleased and am considering giving this to family for the holidays. ... show more
