  • unbelievable oven
this oven is super unbelievable. I set it up in the back yard and made fire. The flame is clear and smokeless. The whole barbecue experience is so good. I have no idea why it could make no smoke.

  • Nice, portable fire pit
TL;DR Nicely built, portable fire pit if you have easy access to fuel and are familiar with starting and putting out fires. — Good idea, but hard to find pellets or pieces of wood in small amounts/sizes. Generally, pellets come in 20-lb bags or more, and wood that’s easily accessible (at least here in suburbia) is in big splits, unless you go with wood chips for smoking, which are more expensive. If you already have a pellet grill or something that uses that quantity of pellets, you’re in luck. If not, you’ll have fuel for years. Now, if you have pellets, they can fall through the holes at the bottom of the fire pit. Not all of them, but some. Minor issue. You’ll probably need to not fill the fire pit to the top unless you want the fire to last for a while. I only put in a few initially to test this out (and because it’s summer and HOT), and they were pretty hard to ignite. It’d probably be easier once I have more. Pellets do put off smoke, as does wood, so I inhaled a lot of it while trying to ignite the pellets (which I have tried to do previously, too, but not very often)—it takes about 30 seconds applying fire directly to the pellets for them to catch. You may have to try again, but it’s not an immediate light like a treated briquette, so keep that in mind. The air intake is useful to have both to feed the fire its needed oxygen, but also to keep the bottom from becoming too hot. Since I didn’t achieve a roaring fire, I can’t speak to that. However, I realized pretty quickly that a) if I needed to move the fire pit after the fire got going (in case it wasn’t placed in the right place or I needed to adjust it), I didn’t have anything that might withstand the heat of it and b) I also didn’t have anything to put on top to starve the fire of oxygen if I wanted to put it out. Luckily, since the fire never got big, it kind of burned itself into embers without igniting everything in the chamber first, and I was able to find a glass container that I inverted over the top of the fire pit so I could watch to see if the embers kept going once I closed the intake. They didn’t. The good thing is that it didn’t get super hot with a small amount of pellets in the chamber (about a single layer of them for my test). I put it on a small wooden box so as not to damage my table. My butane lighter got hotter while trying to light the pellets than the fire pit felt afterwards. I’d definitely still not handle it with bare hands immediately after use (or even for a while after use if there are a lot of pellets in it). It’s portable and probably great for use at a campsite or at the beach (if they’re allowed). Decent build—not flimsy steel and no very sharp/uneven edges. ... show more

  • Good little solo stove alternative
This works decently. I have to learn the art of the best way to start a fire in these. I used wood pellets and took a while to get them lit. But that isn't a negative on the mini pit. Once the pellets were lit, it gave off a nice little heat and a great ambiance.

  • Works well
Only could try this out for a little bit since we are out west and in the middle of summer. I tried it with wood pellets and it worked great. It put out the heat for such a small unit. I do however would hope this is elevated a bit more so it stays cooler on the bottom.

  • Good size and design, don’t touch when it’s burning wood
The media could not be loaded. The size is perfect, easy to carry and not taking much space. We have used it for 3 days in camping so far. There still will be some smoke if wood or charcoal not fully burnt but smoke will be lead up and flow to top so I will recommend sitting in a lower chair or put the stove higher. I am not too sure what material it is (it says stainless steel on the page), but it will be very hot while burning so don't touch it. It will even turning red when the wood or charcoal is burning. Also, you probably need to keep putting some small piece of dry wood in the stove if you want to see the fire like the photo(photoshop) on the page, because I can only see it when I started the fire and it always come with a lot of smoke when burning wood. It does have some rusty spot after using but so far it won't bother me too much, I can just take it as the wear and tear. ... show more
