  • Absolutely beautiful!
Color: Gradient Red
I recently decided I wanted to learn to play. Like everything I know zero about, I started researching like a madman. All I knew was that I wanted a Les Paul style guitar. It came down to this and another Chinese copy at the same price. I liked the black/silverburst with a pickguard of the other brand better, but this one was the 3rd best selling solid body guitar on Amazon, the other was in the mid 400's. Reviews for this guitar were better and more of them, this particular color was one of three that had the upgraded alnico 5 pick-ups and its a beautiful match for the colors our house is decorated in, which meant the wife would be perfectly fine with me hanging it in the living room. So I went with it. When it arrived, the box had been opened and taped closed again with Amazon labeled tape. I thought, oh no, it was returned for some reason. Luckily the issue was obvious right away. The bridge pick-up was installed with the bottom edge of the pick-up cover sitting on top of its saddle rather than down inside it. It was nearly touching the strings. A few twists of the screwdriver and a little push allowed the pick-up to drop into its proper position. Upon inspection everything else looked perfect, not just perfect but amazing. The finish is flawless like glass, knobs and tuners all move equally and smooth, pick-up selector is solid and sets with a confidence inspiring click. No sharp fret ends and all frets level. I spent a solid hour trying to find a flaw and couldn't. Although I'm not a guitar player yet, I've handled plenty of instruments as a singer and a sound manager for local bands and this is as beautiful as any high end guitar I've ever touched. Actually the finish is even better than most $2,500 guitars I've handled. So, the next step was taking it to a music store for set-up and inquire about lessons. The guitar tech tuned it, looked it over closely and said it was pretty good right out of the box, but I paid $60 for a set-up anyway. He adjusted the truss rod slightly and set intonation, put on a set of Ernie Ball strings and hydrated the fretboard. When I picked it up today he asked what I paid for the guitar. I was afraid he was about to tell me it was cheaply made. So, I told him $180 and his jaw hit the floor. He said he would have guessed $600-$700!!! He was surprised at the quality and even the sound through my little 10w Marshall practice Amp. With the O/D switched on it sounded like Zakk Wylde, switched to the bridge pick-up and clean setting is was crisp and sweet. I told him I'd just ordered an Epiphone SG Special as well and he said I should have gone with this brand again. We'll see if he feels that way after the SG arrives, but I think he may be right. Update: The Epiphone SG arrived. It looks very nice but the tuners are pure junk! The gear tolerance makes them almost un-usable. I'll replace them with Hip Shot locking tuners but the holes from the trapezoid inclosed tuners are going to show from under the backing plates. That's a real bummer for a brand new purchase. The Epiphone SG Special also only has one volume and one tone knob where the Leo has the traditional two each for each pickup. I'd say I've learned quite a bit about the difference between a "big name" low end guitar and a new "no name" company manufacturing affordable guitars to the highest standard to build a reputation. I'd say the new guys are trying a lot harder. ... show more

  • Gorgeous first LP copy!
Color: Gradient Red
I'm a new guitarist who's always loved Les Paul's...didn't want to spend that kind of money until I knew how to play a bit so took a chance on this one based on some reviews vs. Epiphone. It exceeded my expectations: it's beautifully made and sounded good (to me) right out of the box. I took it to a luthier for a setup, he said it was "Good wood" and was impressed fr the price. Might have to order the purple one too! ... show more

  • Amazing finnish, absolutely beautiful and perfect.
Color: Gradient Red
Today I received my 3rd Leo Jaymz LP guitar Purple Burst, I have been waiting about a week for its delivery. It arrived on time. The box was a little messed up, the interior of the box was in good condition. The Guitar is perfect, the finnish is amazing. All the hardware and electronics look and work just fine. Otherwise it's ready to play. I am under the impression that the guitars are actually setup before being packed and shipped. I tuned it, and played for quite some time, it never went out of tune. Strings are nice. The tuners are pretty good, standard like the other LPS. Basically I absolutely love the guitar, and it only weighs 12.5 lbs. I purchased the Gradient Red and the Cherry Sunburst too. Both of those guitars are fantastic too. I recommend these guitars if you don't want to drop a couple of thousand bucks for a Gibson. The quality is very good. Hopefully, this helps. I'm no way a professional musician, but I know what I like and this guitar fills the bill. Good luck to you, Rock on !! ... show more

  • The color is NOT what it shows. It is not a bright purple, it's a dark burgundy.
Color: Purple burst
This guitar sounds AWESOME, it plays as well as any high end Epophone LP I've played, I have never the pleasure of playing a Gibson. It did need a bit of fret work. But very nice. My issue is the color. The pics show a light purple, with great flame maple. The one I received is very dark, a deep burgandy, making it difficult to see the flame, though it's is nice under the color as well. I wanted a purple guitar, not a deep burgandy. I gave four stars simply because of the color. Otherwise awesome. ... show more

  • Shipped broken
I don't want to say it was purposefully shipped broken but.....the box arrived undamaged. Everything looked as it should until opening the gig bag where the guitar appeared to be just shoved into it broken. And a few of the pieces that in theory should be in the bag if the guitar shipped complete were not in the bag. It is really unfortunate because it was beautiful. ... show more

  • Blue Burst - Std
Although outer box looked bit beat up, inner packaging was quite impressive. Guitar in gig bag, then placed in form foam box. That is what protected guitar, as driver didn't have shelves on his delivery truck and packages clearly banged around. Out of box, no blemishes and setup quite good. Frets done well and even good quality strings. Hardware all seemed as it should but tuners flimsy as would expect on budget gtr. Alnico pups sound pretty good, tone/volume knobs work pretty well and pickup switch seems pretty solid. All in all, if it holds up, is a really nice lp style axe for not a lot of $$$. ... show more

  • Les paul style solid body.
Color: Gradient Red
This guitar quality was twice as good as advertised. For under $200.00 it compares to any $500.00 guitar. Super surprised. I will be back.

  • Fly in the ointment
Color: Gradient Red
Pros: I was absolutely blown away by the packaging. Rectangular box and inside, the guitar was in a killer gig bag. I mean killer bag. The guitar was surrounded by form fitting styrofoam and sheer styro bag. The guitar is absolutely visually stunning. Finish is beautiful. Binding is flawless with no paint drip. Neck was perfect. Pots were solid and smooth. Tuners good. Fretwork had nice rounded edges. Alnico V pickups! So why only 3 stars for craftsmanship? Deal Breaker: I carefully removed the old strings and before I could put on my GHS large core 9.5s. I noticed deep and I do mean deep vertical scratches and sharp points on frets 3 thru 6. I tried to polish them ,but to no avail. I almost cried because everything else was so perfect in every other way. Bending strings produces a loud scratching sound. NO GOOD. Am returning it and will give them one more chance. And now it will take almost a month to get another one. DAMN. ... show more
