It is a simple Device does what it is supposed to works well as a lighter. Very secure lighter lid, no chance of accidental activation. Is rechargeable and so far in that respect has held up fine. I bought for camping/outdoor use to this point I believe it will work fine in that role

This would be a great little lighter if you didn't have to constantly recharge it. Once a day should be enough for charging, but if you don't have a backup lighter, you're going to have to charge, at least, twice, in a 24 hour period. I like the flashlight and strobe feature, but I wouldn't count on that whistle to be much help if you get in trouble. Buy yourself some mace. ... show more

I originally bought the lighter to light cigarettes, and it does a pretty decent job at lighting them though there is some burnt off debris on the ends of the 4 coils that was not there when it was new, though I am not sure if it’s just residue from the paper because you have to get the cigarette pretty close enough to the arcs to be able to light it so it’s probably just that. Otherwise it still works but I wouldn’t really recommend it to light things where you can’t really get up close as there is no flame just a small x shaped arc. ... show more

This is hands down the coolest tool I own in my camping gear. Everytime I break it out to start a fire everyone lights up (no pun intended). Its really awesome how sleek it is. It can be tricky in small spaces but for my needs with camping this is perfect as I have all the room I need to light small sticks and brush to start a fire. So I got this for my dad for Father's Day and he really liked it! He's kind of older and I wanted to get him something unconvential (to his standards lol). When I was teaching him how to use it, I discovered that the flashlight is VERY BRIGHT for how small it is and the whistle does indeed work. My dad tested out the "flame" himself by touching it and did indeed discover that it does get very hot LOL. I don't know about the battery life since I haven't observed that or gotten any feedback, but as far as first impressions go I highly recommend this if you're looking to get yourself a small electric lighter. ... show more

It's neat but unreliable. Would randomly not work even when fully charged until placed back on a charger for just a split second then it works again. Creates small 'x' for the 'flame'..difficult to even light a cigarette with honestly. Easier just to use a traditional BIC. Good for candles I'd think. ... show more
