This heater looks nice, takes up little space on counter or floor, and heats a fairly large living room with open kitchen next door quickly, plus knows when to turn off before it roasts you if you've remembered to set the thermostat. The oscillating feature spreads the heat around evenly, also a plus. I haven't used the timer but expect it works as it's supposed to, just like all the other features. My only slight design disappointments are that 1) the low setting only runs on max, so if you want to set the thermostat, you're limited to high. And 2) the thermostat only sets at five degree increments, so if your perfect temperature is 67 or 71 for example, you have to remember to switch the setting when it starts to get too hot or cold. Or get used to a new perfect. Both very minor inconveniences if any, and not worth a star. It is perfect enough for me and my family. We're using it for our second winter and it's still working like a charm. We are happy. ... show more

    • The best space heater ever -

I bought this space heater last January and it has been great. It can be confusing at first to use the controls but you'll catch on right away. It starts on higher temps and you have to push the button on the top of the heater to get it to cycle to the lower temps and run on low. I prefer the "gold" color, (which does not have a remote) as they call it, as opposed to the "beige", which is more of a light green and has a remote. I saw this heater on Consumer Reports and it was rated fairly high at $64 - so I found it on Amazon for $58. Then a couple weeks later it went up to $64 or maybe $68 and has remained there until the last week. I really do like this heater - so much so I bought a second one a month ago even tho I don't NEED a second one. I like to have a spare of things that I need and use in case the original one breaks and they are no longer selling that model ... This time I bot an open box one from Amazon for $28!! I was absolutely thrilled because I love this heater. I have run a dog shelter and have run 3 space heaters at a time in their common room (my basement), of all sizes and brand names in the last 10 years so I am quite familiar with space heaters. Of course it is different when you are picking a space heater out that will be around dogs - where you look for tip over safety, stability, even ability to tie a heater so it won't get knocked over and other features. I do know when a heater's thermostat works properly (which is necessary whether in a dog shelter room or whether up in my den with no dogs or children).     • Great heater that actually warms up a room!

I purchased this space heater for our bedroom. Our room has a large window and only one vent. It stays a lot colder than the rest of our home. I picked out this heater for two main reasons. The remote and the oscillation. There are multiple buttons on the top. To power the unit on you press the center button, this is also the button you use to set to High or Low. High is the default. There are 3 other buttons. One for oscillation, one for a timer, and one to set the temperature. To get to the time or temp setting you want you push the button multiple times till you get to your desired setting. The remote has the same buttons. The oscillation is great. Helps to heat the room evenly. I have never used the timed setting so I can't say much about that however, I have used the temperature setting and i'm not quite sure that works accurately. This heater can heat our medium sized room in around 20 minutes. If left on the high setting it can actually get the room hot! Now, I had the impression that this was cool touch when I purchased it. I am not sure where I got that from but it is NOT cool touch. The front grate gets VERY hot. The plastic exterior does stay cool. This heater looks great. It's stylish and it isn't an eyesore like some other heaters. The remote can be kind of annoying to use. You have to be sure to point it directly at the heater, press the button hard, and do not press them too quickly. It takes a few seconds before you can get it to read the remote after pressing a button. It is quiet. I am a VERY light sleeper and I have a hard time sleeping with anything louder than a ceiling fan in my room. I have no problems with this heater if I am napping during the day. I don't personally leave it on overnight while sleeping as I am too nervous to do that. Sometimes I forget it is on other than the room actually feeling warm! I can only compare it to the sound that a PC computer's fan makes. I highly recommend this heater for many reasons.
