I had a great deal of laser hair removal done professionally but I have a few spots that needed touch ups but it would be a hassle for me to go back to them for these random small patches so I'm trying to do it on my own with this instead. I've used it for 2 growth cycles so far. I am about to do my 3rd treatment & I do notice a slight difference since I started. Granted, this device doesn't have the strength compared to a professional laser but its enough of a difference to make me keep at it & not just give up. I wouldn't want to use this to do a large area (like say my entire thigh) but its perfect for the spots that needed touching up around my ankle & side of knee. I like being able to go at my own pace. It's easy to use & not painful. But keep in mind that I had professional removal done in the past so I'm comparing the pain to that which is definitely a lot stronger. First off, don't think you're going to buy this and laser off your unwanted hairs in one sitting -- it's not like that or intended to be like that. It's a process, and a continuing process after that, but it does beat shaving as often as you normally would. Other reviews have gone more into depth of how it works, I'll just add that it does work, it doesn't hurt (gets hot for a fraction of a second), and while it's easy, it does take more time and patience than shaving. This was my first attempt at using one of these, so I forgot to put on the included shades for my first zap and ... oohhhh boy, think looking at an old flash bulb that sticks around for way longer after. Did not make that mistake again, and I implore you, don't be a dummy like me (no, no permanent damage, but still, it's a dumb move). ... show more

I've used a lot of IPLs lately, and this is an excellent collection of features for its price. It has 5 power settings, like most, and it has the additional benefit of an ice cooling system, which makes the metal around the flash window get very cold so your skin is immediately soothed and any hairs that get burnt won't scald you. It does have an auto feature, but while a long press turns it on like all other IPLs I've used, a long press is also required to turn it off, instead of just a tap of the flash button. I didn't realize this and nearly flashed myself in the eyes trying to figure out why it wasn't turning off! Auto mode oops aside, this works very well. The ice technology especially gets COLD, which I appreciated. In the box: * IPL * Power Cord * FAQs card with a chart to track your usage, but it's BLACK, so you can't really see what you write on it. This card is also the same as another brand's card, down to the email used for customer service * Sunglasses, which were a bit oddly shaped in the lenses but actually fit incredibly well over my glasses * Razer * Instruction Book ... show more

I’ve never used a product like this. And, I’m glad that I read the instructions carefully. It warns you about who Can and can’t use it. Make sure you read and ask questions even before purchasing. The same unit might be sold by other sellers so look around for the best features and PRICE. Pros =1M flashes. Not quite unlimited but enough that you probably won't run out =48W =includes cooling which while some say matters others say not. It depends on how sensitive your skin is. =In about the $100 range. You can get cheaper ones with these same features. Cons =Gun-shaped ones are easier to hold than these cylinder-shaped ones. IPL Generalities Units are pretty standardized other than features like cooling, power in watts, shape and build quality. You need to shave prior to use. Usually, they give you a razor but feel free to use your own. Make sure you wear safety glasses. Who knows what damage you could do. =does not work on certain skin or hair colors. See the chart that's included in most IPL. People that find they don't work typically have the wrong matches in the chart for compatibility or aren’t waiting a very long time before you see results. ... show more
