    • Slow and steady but it works
First of all, I want to make sure that people who seek to use IPL, and specifically this IPL device, are aware that hair reduction is not a quick process and that a claim for 96 percent hair reduction in 2 weeks is a marketing claim that won't work for many people with coarse hair. That being said, I still like this device. Before purchasing this device myself, I saw some reviews about people with burns on their legs because they went full ham without testing the device first. While I did not have that issue, I also patch tested as the product instructs in the manual. Make sure you do that first. IPL is strong. I did notice that in places where I didn't shave close enough, there was a little snapping sensation. It's not great, but it's still way less painful than the professional laser removal that I did years ago (yes, it grows back. I would rather spend a little money on a device then have to pay a boatload for professional treatments from here to eternity). And honestly, I am fine with a little pain, because my last device was defective, and I didn't know it for a year because I never felt any pain and thought that's how it works. But just shave well right before you use it and it won't be a problem. I also found that I have less razor burn and ingrown hairs, so having to shave every two days isn't causing irritation like I used to experience. I have brown hair and fair skin, and hormonal issues and genetics make having less hair desirable. I have been using this device for about three weeks now and have noticed the growth is slowing down. Before, I would notice all the hair growing back within 8 hours. Now, I have spots where it's smooth for a couple of days. I probably would be seeing more results now if I had read the part about doing a couple passes on the Fast, High, or Normal mode. Again, it's important to read all the instructions. I'm currently treating the bikini area, armpits, and face. However, I hope to start treating the legs once I can lessen the frequency of sessions on the current areas. Treatment currently takes about 20 minutes because I do the SHR on some of it, and a couple of passes of High mode on the rest. Would I love it if a device could actually treat the whole body in 10 minutes and see all the hair go away in 14 days? Sure, but you also have to wonder how strong and risky that device would be, because professional treatments, though done less frequently because they're more powerful, still take a year and a half to take effect. After years of watching the hair grow back though I paid thousands of dollars, and trying other devices at home, I'm just thrilled to see that the device is actually working. ... show more

Update! They have provided me a complimentary unit! Yes! A complimentary unit due to all of my troubles! Now how is that for customer service! I have been using it for about a week, and it seems to be the best unit I have had yet. So far so good! It has had a couple little stops but it may be a normal thing, I don't know. But at any rate, I am happy so far, and I hope it keeps going well. I am not complaining by any means now, as I have never had a company stand behind their product like this. I am very pleased and hope to continue to be pleased! lol Thank you Ulike! This is my second unit. The first one I purchased off the Ulike website. The first use, the auto function didn't work at all. Sent it back. I didn't want another at the time, it showed me that I couldn't trust the product. Well, dingy me decided to give it another try, but I purchased it here off Amazon this time as it made me feel more secure about it. I even purchased the extra warranty for it. Well, I have only had it about 2 weeks, and slowly, it started having issues of not flashing sometimes. Not all the time, but sometimes. Then using it the last time, I turned it on, (yes it did come on) but there was no flash at all, no function at all. Nothing would work, and it was COLD! I just turned it on! Well, I kept trying it, giving it a few minutes, and then it worked again. Not for long but it did. Nonetheless, it is too much money for this thing, along with extra warranty cost, to keep with it functioning this way. Put a sour taste in my mouth ONCE AGAIN! Not worth the hassle not knowing if it is going to function or not, and always worrying about it affecting your progress because of having to send it away. Back it goes. I bought this one because I had purchased a cheapie and it stopped working but at least it was a cheapie! Of course that happened past the return window, and now I am looking for another, but I will tell you it will be another cheapie I think! I am so disgusted with this! Ugh! Not worth the money for this IMO. Sorry! I am glad for the people that have good luck with it. ... show more
