I have had a number of these around and they work fantastic! I use orange juice or homemade hummingbird juice in these and always have to empty them of hornet and wasp bodies and refill them with juice for re-use often. I only use them late in summer when the hornets and wasps become pesty and obnoxious because I do not want to catch honeybees with them. Early in the season the wasps and hornets are not troublesome at my outdoor table like they are in late fall and those specific insects are what I want to catch. I do not want to harm honeybees, which are especially vulnerable early in the year when food is scarce for them, so it is not good to put these out at that time because they work so well. ... show more

These actually work! One drawback... gow to get the bees/wasps out? Not all of them die and there's no way to empty it 🤷 ? So, I just keep adding solution as it evaporates. I also only used sugar and apple cider vinegar even though the instructions said also use beer and juice. How has anyone else emptied these? ... show more

    • Only caught a few wasps when we set it up, then ants came and drank the liquid
We set these up to try and kill off some wasps nesting in our front stoop. We used some sweet liquid to attract them. It only caught a few and then the ants found it a day later. The ants came in and drank all the liquid, leaving the wasps to dry up. Not thrilled with it's performance, but we'll try them again next year with some different liquid. ... show more

Wasps easily seem to get out of this trap and the plastic lid and bottom are poorly made such that they are difficult to screw on. Won't buy this again.

I would have never guessed this trap would catch so many flies, bugs, bees, and wasp so quickly. You almost need to empty it every other day. (Any more often and some will fly away.) I mix sugar water, watermelon juice, some soda (Coke, Pepsi, or whatever I have.) and anything sweet. P.S. You might want to open under water to help with the insure a total kill. ... show more

Make sure they are all incapacitated before you empty it and put a new B e e juice

    • Picnic Necessity!
I bought these for our church picnic. They worked so well keeping the yellow jackets away from the food. They work well on our deck too! Being allergic, I won't be outside without this trap at home. They are a little tough to open and close/lock but worked ok.
