I’m recovering from open heart surgery. The doctors recommend sleeping on my back, but I can’t sleep on my back all night. I tried to sleep on my side but it is painful without supporting my arm to keep pressure off my chest. I started using a body pillow and that helped. Unfortunately, a body pillow is too unwieldly to move where I need it under the covers. After surgery, just reaching for a pillow is difficult. Trying to move a big pillow under the covers is not possible. Then, I tried these two memory pillows. I had a bit of a hard time getting the pillows out of the compressed packaging, but I managed on my own. These pillows were unexpectedly heavy and dense. I tried to fluff them up, but that took more energy than I had. Luckily, they fluffed up on their own. I put the pillows where I needed them on the bed under the covers. I started out sleeping on my back. The pillows being so heavy didn’t move and stayed exactly where I put them. When I rolled/scooted to my side, I laid my arm over the top of the pillow and gave it a hug. The support I received was perfect. The pillow supported my arm and shoulder and took the pressure off my chest. I was able to sleep on my side, amazing! The coolness of the pillow was also welcomed. It can be a bit warm under the covers and it feels nice to cool off a little when hugging the pillow. I’m so happy I found these pillows. I love everything about these amazing pillows! I love that they are thick & fluffy, but I also like that the pillow can be unzipped and the foam can be removed. Who thought of that? Great idea! I like thicker pillows, so while I think it's wonderful to be able to take the foam out of a pillow I will never take the foam out of my pillow. I am surprised at the quality of the pillows I received. Sometimes, it can be hard to find good pillows. But, look no farther because here's the answer: KUYOYGA Shredded Memory Foam Pillows. I rarely give a 5-star rating, but I cannot find anything about the two pillows that I dislike, so I had to give them a 5-star rating. I love the machine washable outside pillow covers (not to be confused with pillow cases), and had been wanting to find pillow covers for other pillows in my home before I found this set of pillows. If the machine washable pillow covers were sold separately I would also buy those for the rest of the pillows in my home. What's more? I loved how the two pillows were packaged and shipped. But nothing made with memory foam is cooling. Memory foam is only cool when you first lie down. After you are on it for any length of time it is very hot because it traps and holds body heat. I really like these pillows. I wasn't sure at first because they are vacuum sealed and when I was trying to fluff them up they almost felt lumpy. I've never used a pillow that had the shredded memory foam, so I was worried that it would continue to feel lumpy since there's those chunks in it. However, shortly after taking them out and fluffing them up, they expanded even further and those lumps were gone by the next day. The pillows were thick, fluffy, and oh so comfortable. I also really like the dual sided option. I am a hot sleeper and it seems like no matter what I do I always wake up sweating. It feels weird to me using the pillow without a pillowcase even though the cover comes off. It's just a habit, however, the cooling side of the pillow really is cool even after laying on it for a while. If I pick my head up and touch the case, it is cooled to the touch. So far they seem to be really good at moisture wicking and fluffing back up even after a full night's sleep. I can't speak on longevity just yet, but I am hoping that they continue to hold their shape and retain the same amount of comfort. ... show more
