Adhesive is non existent. Removed the tape and... nothing! Bought three rolls. Don't know if they were old or made badly. Can't return them as we need them NOW!. So disappointed.

I am new to the wood stove community as I have never owned one but the house we recently bought has 2 in there. I noticed after testing both the stoves that one had a small leak and some of the smoke was coming through the door. I googled and searched over replacement which led me to this product. Seeing I was new to the wood stove community, I did not know there were different kinds of gaskets for this sort of thing. My wood stove needed a rope gasket which I found out after trying to put this one in and it not working. This gasket does seem to get the job done and is thick but for my purpose, it did not work. One thing I did notice is that when I was taking off the adhesive back, it was very tricky to get it to stay attached to the gasket. It kept trying to attach to the paper and not stick to the gasket. I did notice the adhesive wasn't sticking to the door but that could be at my fault seeing I did not have the right gasket for my stove. ... show more

    • Great idea, but a little too thin for my application.

The idea behind this product is fantastic. Using the silicone adhesive to apply your replacement gasket is kind of a pain. The gasket likes to twist, and you end up with the silicone adhesive all over the stove and yourself. So, I thought this self-adhesive stove gasket would the easiest way to replace my stove's gasket. I would have been right, but this gasket is just too thin for my application. The width was the right size, but the thickness of this gasket did not allow for a tight gap-free seal on my stove. I don't think that this the fault of the gasket, I just think this particular gasket is not suited for my style of stove. If you have a groove on your stove that the gasket inserts to, this gasket probably won't work too well on your stove. This gasket appears to be best suited for doors where two flat surfaces come in contact with each other. If you have this type of stove, I think this product would be a great purchase. ... show more

    • Thin Gasketing Tape-Easy to Use
Color: 5/8" Width 72" Length
This tape comes in two sizes, 5/8" and 1". I got the smaller size and when measured it's width is as advertised. The great advantage to this tape is that it comes with adhesive already on one side. All you have to do is cut it to size, peel off the paper backing and stick it in place. If you've been using standard gaskets, you ll know what it's like to squeeze adhesive onto the stove and then pressing the new gasket into place on top of it...often it's like wack a mole with the part you put on sagging or coming off while you're putting the rest of the material in place...pretty frustrating. The only issue I have with this gasketing material is that it is thin when compared to what is currently on my stove. When the tolerances are fairly good, like on the front glass door of my stove, it seems to work pretty well., but I found that it wasn't quite thick enough to give me the air tight closure I wanted on the side door which does not close as tightly as the front door. I haven't tried, but it's possible you could double up the material by putting another layer in place...not sure how sustainable that would be. I have a collection of wood stove gasketing and this is a nice addition to it. It works well...putting it on is pretty easy and we'll see if the adhesive holds tight after being used a lot this winter. ... show more

    • Hope It Works as Well!!

We have a wood-burning stove that we have used since 2016. We have always used a gasket that was more like a round rope. This gasket is like a rope but it is flat. To make up for that difference, we ordered the one-inch width. We hope it will offer as tight of a seal as the round rope. We haven't burned anything in it yet as it has been hot, but we are getting ready for the cold weather. It was a little difficult to get the backing off of the tape as it was so sticky. We didn't experience any trouble with it not being sticky enough!! It went on well and looks like we will have a tight seal. We just hope it holds up all season as it is a different shape. Only time will tell. For now, we have nothing negative to say about this Komokeru Wood Stove Replacement Gasket Kit, 1" x 72". We do recommend it!! ... show more

    • It's does the job

I question how well the adhesive will hold once it sees the temps of a good fire in the stove but for me, that's not an issue. In my case it fits into a gland that also holds it in place. Other than that it does exactly what it's designed for.
