  • Perfect timer for commercial kitchen!
Color: Blue
We bought this for our restaurant and it works perfectly! We set 4 different timers, it beeps loud enough for us all of us to hear even when it's busy in the kitchen. It's easy to operate, the numbers are big and bright. We would highly recommend this timer.

  • A Quality Product
Color: Blue
It works just as advertised. The basic functions are obvious without the manual. The other features are well covered in the manual. I fail to understand the negative reviews about the instructions, what more do they want? One minor issue I wish the unit was weighted more, on the counter it slides around whenever I use any of it's functions. Only time will tell but it appears that it will last for some time. A suggestion, when not in use, shut it off and unplug. ... show more

  • Oh boy. :)
Color: Blue
* * * Update: * * * We have now used this timer during production and it's perfect for our purposes. Its design has once caused my not-terribly-technically-minded partner to press a button by accident (undoubtedly the DECREASE button), causing the alarm not to sound when the timer went off; this makes me think that volume changing function should be somehow placed one level lower in the controls so that this couldn't happen with a single accidental press of a button, as the alarm not sounding could very easily bring about the ruin of a batch of goods. But other than that one-time occurrence, this timer has proven itself indispensable to our process. =-=-= While I confess I haven't actually used this timer under real-world conditions yet - I only received it about an hour ago - I have played with it and figured out how its functions work and I can't wait to try it out in our commercial kitchen. Once you do figure out how it works (and that's not a difficult or lengthy process), it's crazy easy to use, with highly visible readouts and basically one-button operation unless you regularly need to use more than four different timer settings (in which case you probably want to buy one of the other available timer banks with more than four timers anyway). One potentially confusing point is that the manual says you can set the alarm volume at two different times: 1) whenever the timer is not in its time-setting mode (i.e., when the timer is idle), and 2) when the timer has just finished counting down, the display says "END", and the alarm is going off. This is technically correct, but it's really only useful to attempt it under condition #2 as under condition #1 there's no audible or visual feedback to allow you to know what volume you've set the alarm to. Pressing the INCREASE and DECREASE buttons when the timer is simply idle does change the alarm volume, but without giving you any indication of what the alarm will sound like when it goes off. I discovered this by first trying to set the volume when the timer was idle and then running a test countdown; while I was pressing the DECREASE button it had sounded to me like I'd just maybe dropped the alarm volume one notch and it wouldn't go any lower than that, but then when the timer had counted down I discovered I had in fact, by pressing the DECREASE button several times, set the alarm to silent. I couldn't tell this because the timer beeped the same way every time I pressed the DECREASE button. It was only under condition #2 - when the timer had counted down and the display said "END" - that pressing the INCREASE and DECREASE buttons gave me audible feedback as to the actual alarm volume setting. We bake commercially in a home kitchen (you can do that under very specific conditions in New York State) using one residential conventional oven and one countertop commercial convection oven, and with that equipment we need to turn the trays at a certain point in the baking process in order to get even results. I hoped this timer's reminder function would facilitate that, but it works differently than would be ideal for us: when the reminder alarm goes off, the timer just keeps going in the background - it doesn't pause or stop because the reminder alarm's gone off (indeed, if there is any way to pause a running timer with this device, I haven't found it; pressing the timer's start/stop button while it's running simply stops it and resets it to its initial setting). So for any of the four timers, the overall time you've set is the overall time you get, regardless of whether you've also set a reminder alarm. For this reason, we'll use two timers for each batch: timers #1 and #3 are set to the amount of time we bake before we turn the trays, and #2 and #4 are set to the amount of time we bake after we turn them. Timers #1 and #2 are for oven #1, and timers #3 and #4 for oven #2. Once the timers are set up, starting and stopping them is as easy as pressing the number button to the right of the timer. If there's any reason we don't love this thing in actual practice I'll come back and update my review, but I don't foresee that. ... show more

  • Look ma', no batteries!
Color: Blue
Although I found this somewhat of a pain in the hind-parts to mount on the wall, the timer has worked well for several months. Figuring out how to set it up was also not straightforward. But, in exchange for a little effort, I am rid of my battery powered timers (whose timing depends on how the batteries feel), and spring-based timer (that I kept, but no longer use). No more changing out batteries. No more burned food because the temperamental timer decided not to sound, or because it sounded so softly that I couldn't hear it from anywhere but in the kitchen. No more constantly using my phone as a kitchen timer. Easy to use, once set up. Keeps dependable time (perfect cookies, dozen after dozen). Easy to hear. A definite professional upgrade to your kitchen compared to the timers that try to make their living by being cute or inexpensive. Independent alarms for up to 4 different dishes is useful. ... show more

  • FINALLY a 'loud' timer that is actually LOUD
Color: Blue
We have tried 10+ different timers claiming to be 'LOUD' and they were all junk. Most we could not hear over machines in the shop, some would forget their timer after use, others were a PAIN to re-set the time. This Yooyist is AMAZING. So loud we had to put tape over 1/2 the tiny hole on the back which is cheap and easy. It's easy to make one quieter hard to make one louder. Setting is a BREEZE, starting and stopping are simple and intuitive. You can change from HH:MM to MM:SS if needed. Just a joy and a pleasure. I'm buying 3 more for different areas of the machine shop. Tumbler goes on one button, heat treating gets 2 buttons for intermittent and final timers, etc. Great quality product!! ... show more

  • 100% worth the money.
Color: Blue
This timer is the single most important in keeping track of tasks like chores and cooking. It’s impossible to forget when to take your laundry out of the dryer if the timer is going off. Volume of each timer is adjustable. I recommend just fiddling around with the timer pressing each button. You should be able to learn the logic of the buttons rather easily. Build quality is top notch. No concerns in that department. The only con, albeit a small one, is that it’s hard to mount. Sure you can screw it into the wall, but can you tape it to the wall with normal double sided tape (foam)? No. Not unless that tape is thicker than the screws in the back of the timer. I resorted to placing two strips of double sided tape: 1 for the legs, one for the corner of the base. It stands up on my kitchen counter like a picture frame would. ... show more

  • Fabulous, LOUD!
Color: Blue
This is what I needed for a resident camp commercial kitchen. I little tricky to understand how to set/reset the times, so save the instructions- you'll refer to them often. Fabulously LOUD which is what we needed and the option to set more than one timer at a time was also what we've been looking for. ... show more
