I used another brand 312 hearing aid batteries for several years and was happy with them. Then, in the last year or two their quality went very strongly downhill. I tried these Kirkland batteries and I find them to have very consistent life per battery with a lifetime at least as good as my old choice before they went downhill. I find the Kirkland batteries to be an excellent value in terms of battery life per dollar. Love the batteries. They are long lasting but HATE the new packaging! Will NOT purchase again. I will find something that is easier to open. I had to cut and cut and cut to get to the batteries. Now have loose batteries in a little box.

On a recent trip, I ran out of my hearing aid batteries. In a pinch, I went to a local chain pharmacy and got something off the rack ... the name of the company I do not recall, but is immediately recognized for their standard size batteries. Not all of them worked. I was using more than needed when installing them and finding the warning beep it was running low or simply not connecting. These batteries are not as pictured in the original packaging, but came in a child-resistant package. This might seem smart initially but is an ordeal, even for someone healthy and able like me. The package indicates the batteries will need to be cut from the package, but cutting is just the beginning. Afterward, you then have to pry the package apart. The process was so frustrating that I can’t imagine how an older person or anyone with limited hand strength would cope. I struggled just to get a single battery out, and I can see many others giving up entirely. It’s hard to believe this design passed testing. I agree that safety is important, but this went overboard at the cost of user-friendliness. ... show more
