The media could not be loaded. I bought this smoker because I was looking to get a pellet smoker that I could use on a day to day basis at home. Something simple that I can just turn on, set the temperature, smoke some meat for dinner and turn off. I have a lot of experience with wood smokers and pellet smokers so I wanted to give this one a chance for home use and see what it was all about. I have to say that I am pleasantly surprised with this product. 1. It arrived very well packaged to protect against damage from shipping and everything was perfectly intact and undamaged. All parts were there and nothing missing. 2. This smoker assembled very easily and is sturdy when assembled. The directions were simple and I had it fully assembled in about 30 minutes. I would say this smoker can be assembled by anyone with just a very basic understanding of hand tools. 3. As for smoking, imagine my surprise after working with commercial grade wood smokers that I could just turn this one on, set the temperature and just check it occasionally. Yes! It holds its temperature pretty good and when it comes to smoking, temperature control is paramount. The hopper box and auger so far have been very good and I have to say I’m impressed. Tip* I always put a secondary temperature gauge inside just so I have two sources to ensure temperature is good. 4. A side note: I do recommend that you read the directions front to back with any pellet smoker as this one has a few procedures that need to be done for first fire up, shut down procedures etc and it’s all the in the manual and pretty straightforward. 5. If you want to avoid auger clogs with any pellet smoker it is important to keep the pellets dry, dry, dry. I put my pellets in a big sealed plastic bin with some large silicon bead bags to keep any moisture out and I also put a large silicon bag in the top part of the hopper when not in use to keep those pellets dry. If you live in a very humid environment you may need to take extra steps to keep the pellets dry. So far, I’ve had zero problems with the auger on this smoker. Overall, I think this smoker is great value for home use. It is simple to assemble, simple to use, simple to maintain and seems sturdy and durable that it will last a long time. ... show more

I had a portable pellet grill that was about 250 sq ft of cooking area that reached it's end of life. I wanted a more standard sized pellet but still needed some portability. King Chii to the rescue. My review will focus on a few things I read from other reviews that had me on the fence: 1 - Packaging (pictured) - This was the most well packaged piece of equipment I've ever received. This company really covered all bases with protection for the main parts and accessories included. 2 - Directions - Assembly was pretty straight forward. Took a little common sense matching up the part called with the diagrams shown. Unpackaging to completed assembly was 1 hour with 1 person. Burn in directions were a little lacking. End result was I loaded heat diffuser, drip pan and grates and ran on high for 1 hour. The way directions are worded, you may end up trying this without anything installed and the unit will throw an ERH code eventually for overheating. 3 - Height (pictured) - It's definitely shorter than some grills I've owned but it's not toy sized. I am 6'1 and didn't need to modify how I handled things as compared to my egg grill next to it. After assembly and burning in...I had to put it through it's paces same day. Grilled a couple ribeyes with potatoes and asparagus and was very happy with performance. Hopper is a good size that won't require constant reloading and I was surprised with how quick this unit can get up to temp. I did need to let it settle a bit as it will go past the target and then need to back off a little to stabilize....but that's part of the fun of learning your equipment. Good buy and will recommend (included cover was a nice throw in). ... show more

We bought this smoker to replace our broken Traeger, mostly because it was about half the price. It was relatively easy to assemble, similar to IKEA furniture, and it’s virtually identical to the Traeger. Works great, very happy with the purchase!
