I haven't had this long enough to comment on durability but so far I am really liking this fryer. I have made a couple of things on it and it has worked really well for twice cooked fries as well as fish, running the low high and mid temperatures for frying. The temperature control is super easy, no digital shenanigans just a knob to set the temp. I haven't double checked the temperature accuracy with a probe because everything seemed to time right with what I cook so I imagine it is fairly close. Clean up is where this thing shines. The Oil filtration system works it fixes the biggest hurdle to home frying, what to do with the left over oil. Now you just filter it into the included tube and store it away, no muss no fuss. The filter is very good at cleaning the oil getting most of the solids out and I was still able to use it for other foods after frying fish. The rest of the cleanup is pretty straight forward, take out the air filter from the lid, wipe down the electronics and outer shell and throw the rest in the dishwasher. One thing to note is this isn't very big so you are only going to be able to cook 1-2 servings at a time. Great if you are only cooking for 1-2 people, more of a hassle if you have to cook. for more people. So keep that in mind. ... show more

My favorite part of this fryer is that you can easily filter the oil after each use. I just got done washing the basket and all the crumbs out, and it’s ready for the next time. It heats up fast and is easy to use. Like other people have mentioned the oil receptacle lid is a little loose and can be a little messy, but the fact that you can filter the oil after each use, to me, out weighs those couple of things. Definitely considering, as I would purchase this again. ... show more

THIS ITEM HIGHLY OVERRATED! Purchased one of these units based on the Amazon Reviews... Turns out I guess NO ONE ever actually stuck a thermometer in the oil to test what temperature the oil was actually at based on the temperature control position! My TEMP PRO Digital thermometer indicates it NEVER gets over 290º with the control set at 375º! Terrible performance...I kept wondering why things where not getting crisp enough... now I know WHY! Let see if this company has guts to post this and offer a remedy! The OIL RESERVOIR on this UNIT is an UTTER TRAVESTY! Went to pour the oil out of the OIL RESERVOIR and much to my HORROR the lid popped off and oil instantly went all over my kitchen counter and floor before I could stop same! The OIL RESERVOIR should be a SOLID UNIT or one that does easily come apart... having it designed like a Tupperware container is STUPID! Purchased one of these units based on the Amazon Reviews... Which I think are BOGUS! ... show more

I read several reviews to decide which fryer to buy. Many talked about the oil leaking out during filtering. I believe they all had the oil over filled to begin with. There is a max line for oil indented into the black oil pan. It is about 1/3 of the fryer pan. It is very hard to see and i can see where people would just dump in oil and not see the fill line. We had no problem filtering the oil. When we got it all set up and oil in it we noticed the plastic piece was broken off on the element panel that controls it turning on. We were able to push it against the wall to use it to hold the switch on but that is not ideal so we requested a replacement. A new one was immediately shipped out. We haven’t received that one yet. Hopefully all intact without a broken piece. It says to filter the oil after each use. Definitely a must! We just used it the one time and i can see where it would clog the filter if used more than once. It was easy to take apart and clean as the element slides out and you remove the pan an wipe out any filtered residue. ... show more
