I have a hard time with pillows - I have neck pain if the pillow is too fluffy and neck pain if it's not "plump" enough. It is incredibly frustrating but I thought I'd give this one a try. So far, so good. The outside is very plump and firm on sides and the inner area is thinner. This is really helpful if you have different needs. I haven't had to wrestle with it for hours to get comfortable and so far I haven't had any neck pain in the morning. Love this pillow and would recommend it to others who have similar issues!
