I’m not a hobbyist or treasure seeker. I lost my Great Grandfather’s wedding ring (which I wear as my own) at a public park in moderate height grass. I had been playing baseball with my son and slipped off during one of a dozen times I took off my glove. I had a general idea where it was, but only within an area of about 70’ x 40’. Unable to find the ring crawling around with a dozen friends, I ordered this metal detector as a last resort. This morning I returned to the park with the metal detector. It took about 5min to put together and I then watched a random YouTube video on metal detecting that wasn’t particularly helpful. I figured the settings and different sounds out quickly and within about 20min of searching overlapping patterns, I found the ring on my first pass. I do not recommend this product. I bought it because I had my property surveyed and a couple of the pins got overgrown and after using it for about two hours, trying to find them the batteries went dead, so it uses power very quickly and then I went to, the known location of one of the pens and you could actually see the pin, sticking out the ground and it was not a constant notification on locate that even though I could see it, so I definitely would not purchase this item again ... show more

Bought this because it was a good deal on prime day. Returning it though. Tried it out today. The detector gave a lot of false alarms and the batteries died fast. But I did find a couple items. So maybe if you have more patient it will be great for you.
