  • Don't expect it to be a $300 pedal and you'll likely be happy with it.
Are there better chorus pedals? Well, yeah. Are the better chorus pedals less than $75? Well, no. It's a nice little utility pedal. If chorus is a HUGE part of your sound and you're going to shape your tone around it, this probably isn't your pedal. If you're looking to use it as part of a sound your looking for, this very well could be for you. I have a few Joyo pedals. They're solid tone machines. Not too noisy. I will say though that they can give you an unexpected boost in volume. A 'mix' knob would be helpful. For around $30 it's a smoking deal. It'd be a good deal if it was $50, in my opinion. Again, just remember what you paid for it and gauge your expectations accordingly. ... show more

  • Good sound just a little loud and bright
I bought this as my first chorus pedal. I agree with others that it does add volume and brightness when engaged. The pedal does sound good though as long as you don't mind it making your tone a little brighter and louder. I would probably have just stuck with using a flanger for chorus if I had it to do over though. But I'm not a big chorus guy so what do I know? But it's a fun pedal. ... show more

  • Very nice chorusing and can't beat the price
I think its a very nice chorus pedal, the controls are simple to use and the sound is as good as any BOSS, Ibanez or Digitech chorus pedals. I prefer the Width set wide open and the rate set at about 1 which gives the sound just a bit of space without a lot of modulation, but the controls are flexible there is a wide variety of sounds to experiment with. It works well with Overdrive and Distortion type pedals too. Some people have mentioned that the lack of a level or mix controls is a limitation, but in my opinion the simplicity that provides is a plus since the output level is set perfectly perhaps with an ever so slight boost. Very nice rock sounds to be had, if you are looking for the classic rock sounds of the 70s and 80s you will be very happy with the sound of this pedal. ... show more

  • Really decent chorus
It's a nice sounding chorus for those who want to add a little sparkle to their clean tone. It's only as quiet as your input signal, so if you have any appreciable background hiss (from an OD pedal or 60Hz noise from single coil pickups) then the noise gets modulated as well. I don't find that to be the fault of the pedal but rather the player's rig. Bottom line: if you just need a basic chorus then you have nothing to lose. There may be better, more lush chorus pedals out there and for those seeking that sound this pedal may not be for you. ... show more

  • Pleasantly surprised
For the money, this pedal cannot be beat! This pedal can make some very pretty sounds. Only on its most extreme settings does it get a little unwieldy. The only thing I wish this pedal had was a knob to control the fx level. There is a clear boost in volume with engaging the pedal and sometimes I really don't like that. But all in all this pedal is a good sounding pedal and great for someone not wanting to spend a lot of money putting together a pedal board. ... show more

  • Good pedal
For the money it is great!

  • Worth the money
I bought this pedal because of its affordability. For now, its doing what I need it to do, but I will likely upgrade to something with more variability in the settings. The stomp button has a pretty pronounced click and requires a heavy tap to engage/disengage, but no pop through the amp. Good deal for the money. ... show more

  • Nice but poorly decorated pedal.
Useful pedal that offers classic chorus sound. The only downside is that there is no third for a volume or effect control, allowing very little control of the mix. The decal and color are also very bad. If you are looking for a cheap chorus and pedalboard space is no issue this is your go to.

  • Steal of a deal
This pedal came in yesterday. I plugged it in. Nice pretty chorus sound. The case is very sturdy. The graphic is a little cheesy but you could always paint over it. I opened it up and the inside looks nice and neat. For the price you won't find a chorus pedal this nice. The only other pedals this price range are the cheap plastic Behringer ones. This pedal would also be great for people wanting to do mods because it's a good case and it's not SMT so it's not hard to work on. I might buy another just to experiment with. ... show more

  • Its ok for the $$$
this was my second Joyo pedal, I purchased the AC Tone a few months back and really like it. I thought I would give this pedal a try as a basic chorus (since I don't use chorus much). Pros: -True bypass -Inexpensive -Solid casing/switch and jacks Cons: -Its a little big, keep this in mind if you have limited space on your pedal board -Would be nice to have a "Mix" or "Level" knob -When the width is turned up there is a volume jump when the effect is activated - This is my main concern with the pedal - Effect is a little electronic sounding, no quite as smooth as I would expect from a analogue style chorus. Overall its not a bad pedal, especially for the price. ... show more

  • Can't do better for 30 bucks
The perfect starter chorus. It isn't the most versatile pedal in the world, but if you want a bright, clean, beautiful chorus sound, for 30 bucks, this is great. I use it on my bass, and it sounds awesome and gets absolutely no background hum. It sounds perfect for songs like Come As You Are by Nirvana and Scream of the Butterfly by Acid Bath. Can't do better. ... show more

  • Line level HISSSSSSSSS
If you're looking to introduce line level hiss, this is the pedal for you. But if you're looking to keep you're line level signal quiet, this is not the pedal for you. I even tried it with a battery yet as soon as i hit a chord there was a very noticable hiss along for the ride on everything I played. Also it introduced a noticable treble boost, that didnt sound too bad actually but it wasent my original tone or even close, but along with the hisssssssss?? Deal breaker. Same thing happened with thier American amp pedal (Fender Deluxe reverb pedal). The videos on YT unfortunately won't tell you this, but in person it's quite obvious. When i hit my first chord with this pedal my initial immediate reaction was a scrunched up face if that gives you an idea 💡 lol If you care about keeping everything majestic and beautiful in your tone, you'll litterally hate this pedal after the first chord. I've govin these cheaper pedals a chance and now thats all done. Never a problem like this with Boss of Electro Harmonex and Ive had dosens of each. 2 joyos and im out. ... show more

  • good unit.
Just a good old school 2-knob chorus pedal, at a price point most people won't bat an eye at. Case is metal, Switch seems pretty stout. Knobs are a little cheesy, but that's easy enough to fix if it REALLY bugs you. They even shipped it with a battery. I don't know how Joyo does it so cheap, but this is a good unit. It does what it says it does, nothing more, nothing less- it's not a particularly SPECIAL chorus pedal, but I like it. ... show more

  • Solid value
This replaced an Ibanez CS9 that died on me. The Joyo has a great chorus sound, but it's definitely brighter than my old pedal (had to roll my guitar's tone knob back when engaged). Can't beat the sound and build quality for the money, though! Best part was that the box it came in was simply labeled "PEDAL". ... show more

  • Great sound for the price
This is my 4th JOYO pedal and I plan on buying more from them. Very happy with this. Proof that inexpensive does not have to equal a crap product. Love that it is not plastic. I have chunked the batteries and went to a power strip and daisychain. They all work well together.
