Description

The NuX Atlantic pedal covers several Delay and Reverb types that are very representative in history: 60's Tape-Echo, 70's BBD Analog Delay, 80's Digital Delay, Spring Reverb, Plate Reverb, and Hall Reverb. The latest algorithms with Core Image Technology from NuX offer you not only these classic effects but also modern Shimmer and Freeze effects that inspire you to create dreamy musical ideas. Its patented Smart TAP function automatically understands if you want to turn on/off the delay or tap in the tempo.NuX Atlantic Reverb EffectsSpring Reverb creates a polyphonic atmosphere filter that catches the sound reflections from deep down spring reverb tank. You can adjust the tank size with the level knob and set the reflection distance with the decay knob. Plate Reverb and Shimmer create a straight and clean reflection inside a flat- walled room. You can control the room size with the Level knob and then tweak the Delay bounce point with the Decay knob. If you hold down the Reverb switch, straight reflections will be heated and swirled throughout the inside of the room creating a Shimmer effect. Hall Reverb is the sound of a well- designed hall. Whether the hall size is big or small, the reflections will be emitted by wall furniture. You can adjust the interior hall size, from a small garage to a huge structure with the Level knob and increase or decrease the number of objects on the walls with the Decay knob. Less decay means more objects and faster reflection fading.Inside RoutingNuX Atlantic Delay and Reverb pedal also have inside routing control between the two effects so you can choose which one comes first. In Serial Mode, you can create a deep- reflection reverb with wet or dry repeats, or you can split your guitar signal, and add both effects in the parallel chain. Each effect will be mixed with separated dry signals.

  • Good pedal, great value!
I've had this pedal for several months, and have used it extensively both at home and gigging. The NUX Atlantic is a surprisingly good piece of gear. I've bought many pedals, both cheap and expensive, and this one is up there in quality. The case is made of metal, and the knobs and switches feel sturdy, no fear of stepping too hard or dropping it. The stereo output is a great feature, I only wish that it came with stereo input as well, so I could run it in a fully stereo rig. The delay side of the pedal is great, the tape and analog (60's and 70's settings, respectively) are my favorite, as the digital (80's) seems to get in the way when playing more complex passages, but it is still a good sound. Since the bypass and tap tempo share the footswitch, if you accidentally turn it on, you'll have to wait a while to press the switch again to turn it back off, or it'll think you're tapping in a tempo. The reverb sounds are also good, the plate setting is the best; the frequencies in it are perfect for adding space while not getting in the way. The other settings are good, but the plate stands out. The spring reverb is a decent emulation, but it doesn't have the 'drip' that real spring tanks or higher end digital reverb pedals have, but if you aren't playing surf music, you probably won't miss it. The hall reverb is a good sound, but there's nothing super special about it, not that it's a bad thing though. The extra features in the reverb setting are... interesting. When you hold down the footswitch on the reverb side, depending on what setting you are on gives you a different effect. The plate setting will give you a high octave 'shimmer'. The predelay on the shimmer could be smoother, but it's still a cool setting regardless. The spring sound will give infinite sustain, and the hall will do the same but with a swell. I wish that they were more different, to give a bit more versatility, but again, it's not a big deal. All in all this pedal is very good, definitely worth the price or more. It's nice to see that high quality gear is becoming more accessible. ... show more

  • Good sounding reverb and delay but.....
I'm not a pedal person per se. More an amp with processor in the loop kinda guy. I'm putting together a pedalboard for use in a small room. I thought this unit would be nice to have to make the pedalboard "stand alone", without need of external effects. The pedal supplies only reverb and delay. It does them well, however the output is 100% wet. Yes you can route the signal "parallel" or "serial", but it's still 100% wet. You can't really adjust the amount of reverb and delay in the signal. You can vary their parameters though. I'm used to TC Electronics G Major and G Major II. Sorry pedals just don't come close to actual rackmount processors, despite the popularity of pedals. The flexibility offered in terms of wet/dry mix, series/parallel out the ying yang and balanced connectors, not to mention 100s of patches just blows pedal reverbs out of the water. ... show more

  • Easy and good
Easy to dial in good effects. Cool, but subtle effects when the reverb switch is held down. Tap tempo is always a good thing.
