June 2020 update: Continue to have good results with this Hip & Joint formulation. Kiva does a slow-but-steady twice around the park once a day and she looks forward to her morning pill. Thanks, Vita Pet Life. When my 12 yr old Heeler was diagnosed with minor arthritis, I wanted to find a way to reduce her discomfort without pharmaceutical side effects so I began trying different brands and formulations of "natural" pain relief. I've been using VitaPetLife Hip and Joint for a few weeks and have already noticed my dog exhibits less slowness in getting up, more desire to go for walks, and generally, she has more energy. My labradoodle is only 5 1/2 yrs. Our Vet suggested that we start him on a joint supplement now to prolong any hip issues. We have been using about 18 mo. He loves getting his treats (we call them) in the a.m. and p.m.) The ingredients, price, and flavor seem to be very good. He continues to be very active and agile. We will continue to use for the rest of his life. Especially good for large breed dogs. They are also, very easy to crush and put in food. We have now rescued a senior chihuahua, when we first got her she couldn't walk to the mailbox for lack of nutrition etc. Immediately we put her on Hip and Joint supplement and along with good nutrition is walking a mile every day. ... show more

    • Tasty Treat My Dog Will Actually Eat

I lost one of my dogs to failing hips and it was the saddest thing to ever witness. She had one bad landing after a jump. It ruined her. She was never the same. I will always regret not supplementing glucosamine sooner (like when she was just a pup) with the thought that maybe it would have helped her prevent injuries. I will always feel partially responsible for that. However, to be honest, money was one of the concerns. Some brands are sooo expensive. I am so happy that I found the Vita Pet Life brand because I can afford it and my dogs actually really like them. I have a 9-year-old shepherd mix and a 1-year-old terrier mix that we've had for about 6 weeks. My shepherd is about 70 pounds and I was nervous about her playing too hard with the puppy, but she keeps up with her like she is a puppy herself. I only gave 4 stars on the pain relief because I'm not sure Maggie is actually in pain. She is very healthy for her age. I have recommended this to all of my pet owner friends.     • What a difference this product has made for our German Shepard

We were using Zukes Hip Action for our senior female German Shepard when we realized the cost and how much our dog needed a higher dosage of the Glucosamine and Chondroitin. So he shopped around and purchased this product. Not only was it less expensive but it had a lot more supplements that she really needed. The pills we also flavored, which helped a great deal because our dog is super picky and difficult to give meds to.     • Caution on older dogs

I ordered this and the urinary tract medicine from this same company for an older dog who suffers from urinary tract problems and back hip problems. After taking these pills and urinary tract medicine for four days, he was almost completely unable to stand up or move around. I immediately stopped both pills and within 24-48 hours he was back up and moving again. These meds may be good for a younger dog but I recommend checking with your vet, especially if the dog is older. I now have almost two full bottles of medicine that I am afraid to try starting again. The company delivered quickly and the product does have the smell/flavor to entice the dog. Just unable to give a higher rating because I am afraid to use. ... show more
