I use this for minerals as well as microbiology. The image is clear and the best part is that I can take pictures of it all. I got this in addition to my compound microscope and it has helped me save all of my findings. I mainly use it for peripheral blood smears. This product is fantastic! I would definitely recommend it. I bought this during prime week for cheap, to try as my work from home microscope. Saving me trips to the lab, this has paid for itself already. Ok, there are some cons. This has some good glass, one click photos, it's getting the job done. However, the lights get really hot, LED could have went a long way here. The plastic body construction is super lightweight and will probably shatter if dropped, this lack of weight also makes it unsteady. But it's usable and takes clear photos. ... show more

It’s a really fiddly plastic thing, but I think that may be expected at this price point. The magnification is excellent, and it is very easy to use. But nothing really stays still - the parts are plastic and not that stable. I was quite pleased by the image, but flipping the magnification heads moves everything in the scope! The adjustments are quite course and fiddly. Almost any time you touch the device the focus and location move Again- provided your expectations are set right, I think this is a surprisingly great scope, but it is very cheap and that shows in the construction quality. ... show more

I am surprised at the image quality of this inexpensive microscope. It's best if you can isolate it on it's own stable table as it is subject to shaking of the image. All in all, a nice addition for simple microscopic tasks.

Having the screen to view magnified items is great. Allows all my kids to see things at the same time. The configuration is great, with the table that can be adjusted up and down to accommodate different sized items and not just sides.
