    • EXCELLENT unit! BEST customer service!!
First review: From 2016, this is the 5th tens unit I've tried. I've never tried another since. It's the smallest to carry around, and I love the way it works! I have 2 units which both seemed to quit on the same day (I usually keep one in my purse for backup). I called iReliev - BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE!! - and Mike figured out it was probably the wires (makes sense if both units quit on the same day - duh!) He then spent a good amount of his time figuring up weight and contacting Fed Ex to find out how much it would cost to overnight. I will be sitting (sitting = pain) waiting for them. He also made a great suggestion when I asked about sending another unit overnight just to be on the safe side. Thank you so much, Mike! Lizzy Update: 8.6.2022 Still use this almost daily, but usually only 2-5 hours at a time. I have 3 now. One stays in my car, one at a loved one's home, and one either "on" my hips or on my dresser. For the first 2 years, I would drop the unit ~ 5-10 times/week because I didnt always use the clip , nor would I keep it in my pocket while sitting. The back would pop off, but the unit still worked. One unit finally quit working on one side only. I have had these units since 2016 and I wear one almost every single day. After landing on the hardwood or tiled floor so many times, I can't believe they still work!!! The only con I would have is something that's probably due to my sensitive skin and the fact that I perspire quite a bit. I will sometimes get sores on my hips if I wear them for an extended period of time, especially if I sweat a lot while wearing them. (For example, gardening in the hot and humid south.) I've learned to wash the area with alcohol before applying the pads, and to change them as soon as I finish. I cannot recommend these highly enough. I've spoken to several people who have said they've tried it, but it didn't work for them. I believe that they only tried it for a short while. The first time I tried it, it was only for about 10 minutes. I didn't really give it a good chance. I would suggest that you try it for at least one hour, at the highest level you can use (without actually hurting). I normally use it in therapy mode setting of P3 at a power level of 12 for at least an hour or 2. It continues to help block the pain signals the longer I have it on. I also use it a night if I can't fall asleep due to pain. It uses 3 AAA batteries. You can use rechargeable. I tried Amazon batteries; they do not last! Duracell batteries last a long time. I actually place the pads exactly where my pain is, one on each hip. It says to place it on either side of the pain, but the "buzzing" ON my pain works for me. Try different things out. I can't speak highly enough of this as an aid to block pain, in addition to or in place of pain medication. Update: 11.11.23: Still going strong! I've replaced wires (which are approximately $4.00 each) and pads (which are ~ $ .50 each). I'm pretty sure it's still the smallest unit out there. I've also had some issues with my back, and I use my iRelieve for relief there, as well. Do not use on your spine. The unit, with pads, wires, clip, drawstring bag, and manual is $29.95 at thie time.     • The best home-use TENS available
I bought another highly rated TENS unit on Amazon, but rarely used it because it was so difficult to see the screen (tiny and gray, low contrast) and navigating the menu was difficult and confusing. I got this one because of the screen. Large, simple, easy to read. I use it every day. I made the mistake of thinking it was broken when the unit wouldn't respond and seemed stuck. I almost threw it out, but it turned out that this is what happens when the pads lose their connection and/or adhesive. I think it can also happen if batteries are low. I have had this happen several times and ALWAYS the unit works perfectly after I change the pads. This machine is so good and like no other I have found that I was even going to purchase the same thing despite annoyance at it "breaking"....... ... show more

I got this recommendation from some chiropractor on youtube. Not bad for the price. Works good, I just try to not turn it up to too much or else it starts to sting but overall I like it.

    • The only way to survive a day at work for me
I have a ridiculous amount of shoulder & back pain from past injuries and new ones. Micro tears in the A/C joints, pinched nerves that never stop throbbing and burning, bad disks,arthritis & bursitis...I deal with it all day and at times I wonder how. Retirement is still about ten years away if I'm not hunched over before then. I don't like taking any kind of pain medicine but will take Ibuprofen on occasion. My job is very physical and the pain starts within minutes of lifting anything. I had heard of TENS units in the past and decided to read as much as I could about it. I went with the iReliev ET-1313 based on reviews and price. I don't think I could survive another day of work without my TENS unit. I read all the directions and started on the lowest setting. I'm now at level 11 out of 25 in intensity. Any more feels like I could jump start my car with my index fingers. I use mine for my entire work shift and it really works to block the pain signals. I like to experiment with the different intensity patterns available. My favorite right now is number 8 because it hammers my trapezoids into a contract/relax routine and feels awesome. It isn't long until I realize my pain is just about gone. Now my morning routine is to apply one pad to each shoulder and connecting the wires before putting on my shirt. Once I'm at work I slip the unit in my front pocket,start an hour long session and go about the day virtually pain free. I seldom use both channels (two electrodes can be used for each channel) as I seem to get the results I need with just two electrodes over each A/C joint using one channel. I made sure to purchase extra electrode pads and wires through Amazon. After seeing other TENS units out there I wish my iReliev ET-1313 had a back light. While the LCD display is simple to understand and use a back light would have come in handy for low light areas. I'm really impressed at how long the included AAA batteries last in this unit. I'm still using them two weeks later after using it eight hours a day every day. It's important to read all the safety precautions if you have heart issues or implants but neither is a problem for me. ... show more
