I needed a cellphone holder for my car that was deep enough and strong enough to hold my Iphone 12 without having to remove the pop-socket every time I used it. I ordered this one by iOttie along with another brand to try. Both had conflicting reviews as to whether or not the pop-socket would be an issue. The other brand did not hold the phone securely - but this one does, even over bumpy roads (see photos). I have this suctioned to my windshield since my dash is not totally flat and it works quite well. As you can see from the the photos, only the pop-socket is resting against the back part of the phone holder, but the bottom "feet" of the holder extend just far enough to allow the bottom of the phone to rest on them & the side arms are strong enough to keep the cellphone secure. I also like the telescopic arm that allows me to pull the phone forward or push it back towards the windshield if needed. Oh - as far as the suction goes - follow the directions and let the suction cup "set up" for bit before putting the cellphone into the holder. I tried using it right after I attached it to the windshield and it started to come off. Once I let it sit for awhile after reattaching it - it worked fine. Two months so far and no issues.     • Finally found a phone holder that works in my car!

I bought a 1/2 dozen phone holders for my car when I started driving for Uber. It was so difficult because none of them worked for my vehicle. Either they wouldn't turn the direction that you had to have for the Uber app, or they were too small for my phone with it's Otter Box case. Some took up too much room so I couldn't see when driving, or they were in front of my air vent. In Southwest Florida blocked air conditioning… not good. This one finally fit the bill! Plus, when you drive Uber, you have to grab your phone and take it in with you. With all the others, it was a two handed operation putting it in or out. It was horrendous with all the rest of them having to unhook them, unscrew them, whatever you have to do. This one, you just squeeze the sides with your thumb and first finger and your phone pops out into your hand! Plus, when driving with Uber, you need a lot of power in your phone. With this, you can plug in and unplug from the bottom of the phone and it doesn't disturb anything. Bravo for a great phone holder! I purchased one of these for my new fun convertible that has no where to put your phone and see it. It is a 2006 Mercedes and they didn't rely on phones as much as we do now. I purchased one of these over a year ago and it has been working great ever since. So I decided to get one for my everyday SUV to allow my phone to be where I can see the screen. Even though I have apple car play this makes the phone more convenient to see, especially when on a long trip. The CD slot was perfect place for both vehicles since I don't play CDs anymore anyway. Although you'll have to compromise some access to center console controls or display, this beats having your phone dropping at an inopportune moment when driving. It does mean that you'll gain some extra windshield visibility. And mostly I use the cell for access to music or podcasts anyway. The climate controls are not blocked in my fusion, so this setup works rather well. It is at least as stable as the suction mount and moves cell closer to charging cable. 9/10 solution because there isn't much alternative - or use the vent attachment type, but I've known people who broke the vent veins - BUT I cannot say if it was Iottie brand. Look at your car set-up, other pics might be posted of your exact car with this mount too. YMMV ... show more

So I bought this like 3 years ago. I used my brothers truck and trailer to move and put it in there. I forgot and I thought the kids had got ahold of it. I found out it was in there not because he told me but because my mom says your brother wants a phone holder just like yours. Ahhhh that’s where it was. I said he can have that one I’ll get another one. I have owned 4 others since they are cheaply made don’t last and don’t have as good of a working system as this one. I used his truck the other day here this was sitting there looking and working like new!!! So I took a picture and ordered me another one! I should have done that from the beginning and saved myself money and time. Push the two side buttons in it opens up. The phone pressed against the back and they close automatically. Built very well. I’ve tried a gazillion vent mounts, window mounts and dash mounts over the years. This is the first one that actually does what it’s supposed to do. Just a convenient squeeze of the side buttons to remove, or click-in-place to secure.
