My basset hound got neutered and the cone the vet gave me to prevent him from licking his stiches didn’t do that. not only could he twist his long body to lick his wound but the cone was scraping at it and tour it open and this cone was a life saver‼️It demobilized his neck so he couldn’t wrap around and lick so he could heal + its really cute i got the orange and he looked so handsome in it! ... show more

I was hoping I could use this instead of one of the huge hard plastic cones. My lab is 100# with a long neck. It is much more comfortable than the standard plastic e collar, but it just isn't deep enough to keep him from licking his feet. With that in mind, I am keeping it to alternate between wearing the hard cone when I can't Hawkeye him and swapping with the cute orange slice when I can watch him closely. My pup is a contortionist and was able to get to the wound on his back leg with the other donut. This was the sole option that would arrive the next morning. Voila...the strawberry with a visor kept him from being able to pick his wounds. Poor boy got a lot of chuckles from folks on the street but that's what he gets for being flexible. I like the quality and the multi-functionality of the Donut. It was easy to put on and secured with velcro (and added bonus of being able to put a collar through for extra security). The visor also zips off if needed as well. The donut deflated a little in the 2 weeks between biopsy & surgery, and I am still not disappointed at all. Great product. Does not allow the pooch to get to the wounds. AND it brings joy to others seeing a dog with a strawberry donut begrudgingly walk down the street. Win win for the humans. ... show more

This worked great after our foster pup was spayed. It kept her from reaching her incision and we were readily able to remove the shield when it wasn't necessary. It held its air throughout the 10 days she was on restrictions. She did manage to chew on the shield but it's still functional and will be ready for our next foster. ... show more
