    These aren’t the most expensive plastic planters on Amazon, but they’re definitely among the best. I purchased the 8-inch and smaller combo set, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. What’s Included: Each planter comes with: - A drainage/feed cup - A pour spout - A thick cotton wick - A planter cup - Clear instructions How It Works: 1. **Set Up the Wick**: - First, determine your plant’s needs. Tie a knot in the cotton wick about midway, ensuring there’s enough length to lay around inside the drainage/feed cup to absorb water effectively. - Feed the wick through one of the two designated holes in the planter cup. (The instructions don’t specify when or where to tie the knot, so you may need to adjust it later.) - The wick should have enough length to lie in the drainage/feed cup while the rest extends upward near the root ball. You’ll need to hold the wick in place while adding soil. OR (Another method) There are two string holes in the cup base, whereby you can feed the string through each end so there's two ends lying in the drainage cup and a single horizontal string at the bottom of the dirt cup. *(I accidentally tied the knot too close to the end of the wick, leaving little in the dirt cup. Surprisingly, it still worked—after watering yesterday, the drainage cup was empty.     They have fun colors and are very cute! I love the size variety and the ease of watering. As a busy person I don't have much time to water and tend to my plants so this is a great option for me to still have access to fresh herbs. My only complaint is that they are kind of fragile.     I received a large peaceful plant as a gift. I've never had luck with place plants, and wanted to find a self watering pot to keep it in. The plant has thrived in this pot. I'm having to add more water to the pot every few days, rather than 10 days like they indicate, but I live in a dry climate. The bottom watering helps keep the soil cleaner and keeps the gnats away. The directions for use are not very good. I had never used a self watering pot before, and had to watch youtube videos to figure it out since the included directions were unclear. The ends of the string should hang in the water and you want to place a little soil under the string in the pot. The style is subdued enough to blend it, and nice enough to not look cheap. ... show more
