The media could not be loaded. The iLiving USA - V8 Foldable Mobility Electric Scooter is a great little scooter for the price. I have researched many scooters and my requirements were that it was lightweight, foldable, easy to maneuver and that the batteries had a decent range. I have only used it once so far. But here are the things I considered Pros with this scooter: I didn’t have to buy another expensive battery. It is truly easily foldable, and fits in the back of my SUV or even in the backseat. I’m glad it isn’t any heavier - my husband can get it loaded in the car but not yet sure I can do. It will work for travel - including airlines and cruise ships. It is comfortable and easy to drive - it is 3 wheel, but it feels like I’m well-balanced. I’ve driven on sidewalks, streets and in dirt/gravel parking lots so far. I like that all the tires are solid - I don’t want to worry about a flat. It’s very easy to charge. Things I still need to do or check out: I want to get a basket for the back. There’s not anywhere to put things. I want to drive it for a longer time and make sure it stays charged for as long as it is supposed to. Note: As you may have read on other reviews the steering post/tiller can be raised and lowered according to your needs. When we raised the steering tiller and tried to lock it in place the plastic spacer in the latch snapped. Customer service (Mariana) responded to us right away and a replacement piece is being shipped to us. (She’s great!) She sent a video too that explains how to fix it. The video refers to the replacement piece as “rubber” - it would be great if it is rubber and isn’t brittle. Having said that, too bad the scooter didn’t come with a rubber spacer instead of plastic that would snap. In spite of this I have to give this scooter 5 stars. The freedom of being able to go out with my family again is so wonderful. I need to practice with it a bit more but it appears that this scooter is just the right size with just the right amenities for me. I will update my review as I use it more. ... show more

    • My friend loves her present
I got this for a friend who needs a little help getting around and she absolutely loves it. It’s lightweight and easy to handle and get to rush. She needs to go. When I bought it, I think it was $1500 almost $2000 so I got a deal I would definitely recommend this scooter

Having owned this scooter for over a year now, we have used it for numerous trips including cruises and flights. The V8 is a well made, portable, and affordable scooter. Long lasting battery, good speed range. Folds quickly and easily to the size of a suitcase. It gets many positive comments about it's size and portability. Light enough for one person to load in the trunk, and yes, it only weighs 40 pounds (I actually weighed it). Easy to gate check when flying, and narrow enough to navigate cruise ships with ease. Negatives: speed control and abrupt braking take some getting used to, no basket or means to carry anything unless purchased separately, can be tipsy if turned quickly or surface is not level, and solid wheels tend to amplify bumps. Overall, the V8 has been a great purchase, and I would buy it again! However, the travel cover that is sold separately does not fit the V8 well and I do not recommend it. ... show more

I purchased the V8 scooter after watching several videos, reading reviews and researching companies of those other scooters. I decided to purchase this one because it is only 40lbs, can maneuver around a cruise ship with its turning radius, comes with 2 batteries unlike other brands you have to purchase a separate spare battery, has a comfortable seat, neutral switch on the wheel for safety to keep my 4 year old from taking a ride on his own, easy two step fold, sleek modern design and gorgeous blue color. My father has COPD and needs oxygen 24/7. Frequently he has to walk because there are not enough scooters when we go shopping or to pick up his medication. Now he can take his scooter with him in his trunk and ride to the store from the parking space and back. I am very happy with this purchase and happy my 71 yr old father can go shopping with my son and not be too out of breath to function. ... show more

    • Has electrical problems
First, I have muscular dystrophy and this is the only scooter that I can still get in and out of my car. It’s the perfect size and weight. However, within the first month of owning the scooter the lights on the control board stopped working. I have no idea how much battery power is left. I emailed customer service and they were unable to resolve the issue. Since everything else still worked, and since this scooter allowed me to get back into the world, I kept it and called it a minor annoyance. However, a year after owning the scooter more electrical issues have sprouted up. Now, sometimes I have to turn it on and off a few times before it starts to work. More troubling, when it does work, the start and stop levers don’t work and the scooter continues to move on its own. Basically, this is a $1,500 a year product.     • I would give zero stars if it had the ability.
I purchased the scooter and the extra warranty. The scooter started having problems 5 months into ownership. When I finally reached the company they are saying they can send me the parts and I will need to find someone to replace them for me. Dah! I thought that was what the warranty is for. Save your money and don’t buy anything from ILiving. The scooter is easy to fold but the mechanics are crap. ... show more

I bought this scooter to take on cruises. I have a heart condition and can’t walk long distances. This allows me to go up the long walkway to get on the ships. And it allows me to ride it on almost all our shore excursions. Very light and folds up small enough to not be in the way in the cabin. So far I love my scooter! ... show more
