I have an Anytone AT-5888UVIII and a DM-1701 I like to have on the dash for DMR. I’ve had the HYS clip mounts on using only the adhesive for about two weeks now and they show no sign of weakening adhesive or other failures. Build Quality: These are very well made for the price. The plastic is very strong and has absolutely no give when I mount even a fairly heavy HT on it. Mounting: I opted to only use the adhesive so as to not damage my interior, and it is more than strong enough. I’m impressed how well they have stayed attached in a hot car. Compatibility: These fit my mobile hand control perfectly. There is some horizontal room for wider belt clips so the radio does have some play there, but it has yet to move while I’m driving. This will depend completely on your radio’s clip design and width. Conclusion: These perform extremely well for the value. If they ever fall off or break I’ll come back and update the review. These really helped me customize my setup when my car had no other places to mount things. Having two gives me flexibility to mount my hand control in either place. With the screw mounts these things would be just about indestructible. ... show more

This is a pretty heavy duty mic mount. I used the supplied 3M mounting tape without screws on the front face of my dashboard. I holds my handheld scanner solidly, over bumps and everything. Price is a little high compared to other mic clips, but if you need something heavy duty, buy this.

Heavy frame material-won't bend. I put this in my truck to hold the mic that was always sitting on the console. It worked perfectly. I didn't put the included screws into the console as I wanted to see how the 3M tape held up without putting holes in my console. So far, it's holding up just fine without the screws. What makes this clip different is that it is wider between the base and where you clip the mic. I can clip my small dual band handheld on the clip using the belt clip. I wouldn't trust it for very long without adding the screws, but it adds to the versatility of the clip to have that option. ... show more

I got this radio clip mount to provide a place for my Motorola Walkie-talkie in the boat. It’s not like I’m constantly using the walkie-talkie, but when I need to make a call, or to receive a call, I need it NOW. I’m putting this mount on my helm dashboard so the walkie-talkie is readily available. This mount holds the radio firmly. I was surprised by the thickness of the metal – it’s not going to break easily. The mount works best with a knob mount, but can work with smaller belt clip style. The exact shape of the retention lip does matter, and I found I had to grind the edge of one down so it would slip over the hard edges in the mount going both in and out. Similarly, I’ve ground down the bottom edge of this mount so any belt clips the go too far down can be pulled up without trouble. The price at the time of this review is $12, likely a good price. ... show more

I wanted a 2nd place to put the mic and this worked nicely. I simply used the adhesive as I was putting it right on top of the center console, in a horizontal position. the adhesive strips seem to be sufficient for this location. (It just needs to prevent the microphone from sliding forward onto the floor when braking). If not, I will use the screws that it came with.
