I needed to replace an old hood, but I did not want to spend too much. The quality and performance of this unit is more than adequate, and at this price points you will not find hoods with "baffle" s/s filters. 4 stars instead of 5 because the lights are not very bright, the power cord location can not be changed and because the unit came with a small dent on the side (it was well packed, no complains there: poor factory quality control). I noticed it after installation, not worth returning it. So, check carefully the unit upon arrival ! BTW: if you do not like the large white logo in front, just scraping it with your fingernail will remove it, without damaging the black paint... (disregard their answer !) ... show more

Love the look! Love the LED light. The fan sound is not too obnoxious. We have it installed as ductless since it is installed in an old home and would be a hassle to create a system to vent to the outside. Initially gave this 3 stars because the draw is not as strong as we would have liked. Not sure if it is because we are not venting it outside (maybe it would work well enough for that), but kitchen fills with smoke when cooking bacon, for example. Since we have had this for a longer time, we have adjusted and turn the fan on before we even turn the heat on. Why I will give this product 5 stars now, is because of the ongoing contact with the company's service department that was initiated by THEM! They genuinely were interested in seeing if their product was actually defective and if it needed to be replaced. I had difficulty uploading video to show how it worked, and with time have made adaptations as noted above. I would not hesitate to buy another product from this company because of the exceptional customer service! Very unexpected and refreshing. ... show more

    • Was originally loud but noise was fixed with carbon filter.

Seems to work as it should, however the fans cause the metal filters to vibrate and it's very loud. The fan itself is not loud, but I cannot seem to get the filters to not vibrate. I've now found myself trying to put tape around all the edges of the filters to stop the noise and even that doesn't work. I replaced a range hood with a failing fan that was loud, and now I have a brand new one that's ALSO loud.... Update: The manufacturer sent me a carbon filter to install that seems to have baffled the vibration and fixed the noise. Overall I am happy with the product now that this issue is taken care of. Nice product. Fairly easy to install for someone with above average home repair skills. Set up for top side exhaust and power cord placement. Needed to relocate the power cord to the back side and modify the trap door for rear discharge. Looks nice and vents properly as expected. No mounting hole template provided. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This unit looks good up and I like the two lights, but the fan is ridiculously loud, even on low. Can't really recommend it given the noise level.

Just put it in. Took about an 1 1/2 hours and two people. Mainly to hold it while the other screws it in. I had to install a gfci because my old one was hard wired. My only complaint is that the lights could be brighter. Overall pleased with it so far.
