The media could not be loaded. Came in on time and packaging was perfectly packed! Took it out of the box to be surprised that the cut out template was in the box to make it easy for installation if one hasn't had the countertop cut out yet. No cracks No scratches! Wires it in and everything works as its supposed to! Only thing I recommend is if you have a 30 amp breaker to upgrade it to a 40 amp. Takes a little more power when using double burner and a single burner. But other than that HIGHLY RECOMMENDED especially for the price! ... show more

It turned right on and works great. It has individually timed elements to turn off when the time is up. Gets hot quick. Boils water as good or better than the POS whirlpool I had before this. IDK about longevity. I don't see why it would fail any time soon. Only gripe I have it the touch stuff. It's a little tedious, but once you get used to it, it's fine. The instructions clearly state that when the two biggest elements are on at the same time, it alternates between them to avoid overloading the unit. Read the instructions people! The stove is easy to install. Had to hire an electrician. He got it in but had to spice wires with our older stove to use it with our current box. The stove looks really nice and modern. It is a bit hard to get cooked on stuff off of it but that happens on a rare occasion. Pans can slide when it is wet with drips if you aren't careful. Everything is spaced out nice on it even for larger pans and I used the center mostly but was able to easily get many pans on it while cooking for Thanksgiving. One downfall, the stove is a bit hard to clean completely. I usually let it soak a bit with spray. One other issue is that the stove takes a little bit longer to heat up. I have to turn it to 9 and then that is the highest setting so I have to wait for it to heat up then turn it down a bit. It takes longer than my old coil stovetop. As far as looks go, it's sleek and ultra modern. It looks stylish and I was so happy to get rid of the previous knobs so I can set things flat on it. I do like the lock function. It makes it hard to press buttons when you are setting things on top like groceries. It does allow me to use the space like a counter top when I am not cooking. That lock will come in good for small children. However a password would be good so if they are smart enough to press that unlock button it would be easy to turn on. Over all I would give it an 8 stars for beauty, function, and durability. I wish it would heat a bit faster but otherwise it's a good stove top if you are looking for a modern look.     • Check your countertops if this is replacing an old cooktop!

My opening for my old cooktop was 29X20.75. This unit fits the length of 29" fine, but is about 1/4" too short on the width (20.25" is more accurate for the new one). When I installed, I had a gap around the back of the cooktop. No big deal, but be prepared because this gap means any overboils or spills go into your cabinets. Otherwise, install is easy. Pull the old one, put the ears on the side of the new cooktop, drop it gently into the existing cutout, wire it in (be sure to shut off your breaker and DOUBLE CHECK YOUR VOLTAGE IS 0 AT THE JUNCTION). The pigtail has the wires crimped on the ends, so wire nuts don't work unless you strip back the pigtail some (which is what I did). ... show more

The home I moved into already had a thermomate stovetop. It worked great, no issues. One day a spice from the overhead spice rack fell and cracked a chip in it. Did not effect how it functioned but was just cosmetic and I knew the crack would get worse overtime. Patched it with electrical tape and ordered a replacement here on Amazon. Item arrived on time, brand new. Cut power to the breaker, Uninstalled my original, read the instructions that came with the item. And connected my new thermomate exactly as the old one was. Turned the power back on and the new stove had power. Placed a pan with water in it on one of the four burners. Selected the burner with the touch option, turned it on, it began. I immediately noticed mild smoke coming from under the glass. The heat coils faded and the heat ceased. The electrical functions continued to work but now all 4 burners would not produce any heat whatsoever. Assuming I somehow short circuited the device I uninstalled the product and returned it that same day. Got a refund to my Amazon account and ordered another item of the same thinking I somehow installed it incorrectly and regardless shorted the circuitry. While waiting for my 2nd replacement to arrive I reinstalled my original cracked thermomate (installed exactly the same way). It still had full function, all burners working ect just the cosmetic chip in it. Got my 2nd replacement today, uninstalled my original, installed my replacement carefully, same story, immediate short circuitry and the product ceases to produce any heat whatsoever. Furious, I’ve now returned the 2nd product of the exact same thing twice in the same week, both brand new products. I have since re installed my chipped original and what do you know? It works perfectly still, on the same circuit, installed exactly as the same way. I called the thermomate support center and emailed them. No response and the phone service told me there was no one there to take my call and to call back another day. Pathetic. I am now living with my chipped original product and looking into new brands altogether, this company manufactures some crap product to put it nicely, I will never buy from them again. ... show more

I've only used it once so far, but it did a great job. I love the look of it and its features. The timer is awesome. It's been mentioned that ceramic glass cooktops are hard to clean. Not true. A couple of drops of dish detergent on a wet microfiber cloth, and everything buffs right out. Finish by buffing with a dry microfiber cloth.
