There are so many walkie talkies on Amazon I had no idea who to trust. For whatever reason I purchased these. I waited over a year to write this review because I really wanted to be sure it was an honest review. I can say that these little guys have blown me away. Super clear, long range, no problems. We are now driving across several states in our RV with a few friends in other RV's. I purchased the "3 pack" so we have 3 RV's talking. No matter how far apart we are, all three of us can hear each other crystal clear. FYI, RV's are really loud inside and it's hard to hear in them, but we have no problem hearing or understanding people when using these. They also work great when we are mountain biking. Not sure about the maximum distance, but if you plan to use them to talk between other cars that are caravanning or with other bike riders on trails, they are great. I suspect they would also be perfect for hiking, skiing, or many other outdoor sports. I highly recommend them! FYI, they also last a long time on a charge and are simple to use. ... show more

So I bought these a while back and haven't used them much, but over the weekend I was working on a job on a cooling tower and I dropped the radio 15 ish feet onto a metal deck that it bounced off of and right into a foot of water. After about 20 minutes I finished what I was doing climbed down pulled it out of the water and it was still on. The radio would not function at the time so I removed the battery and laid it on my dash with the back off to allow all the water to bake out of it. A few days later popped the battery back in and it works good as new. For the price I am beyond happy with this product. ... show more

Yes! These are perfect! I use these at trade shows, for vacations ( I don't like my phone near the sand) and to play when my grandson comes! They perform under any conditions! I love them. I do not know what I would do without them!

    • Moderately power radios - great for kids.

These are moderately powered radios. Dont get me wrong, they work great at short distances but for longer distances, a more powerful 1+ watt FRS radio might work better. Also please do not believe in some of the answers most of the sellers have put up on the Q&A page about the power rating. Most are downright incorrect. These radios are NOT rated at 1W nor are they rated at .5W. They are rated at just under 0.1 Watts. I got these ratings and test results directly from the FCC website: FCC ID - 2ACVFK-10B. Google it up. Channels 1-7/15-22: 462.5625 - 462.7125 MHz rated at 0.0918 watts 462.55 - 462.725 MHz rated at 0.0986 watts Channels 8-14: 467.5625 - 467.7125 rated at 0.0527 watts We went to the Sierra at Tahoe ski resort in California with the kids and these radios work great around the base area. We then took Grandview Express and could hear the kids when they reached the top, from base. There was some static but it was audible. We had several folks around the mountain at different times and we could hear each other mostly if we were within a mile of each other. We were also able to test these radios on the Sugar and Spice run from the base lodge. But the signal did get lost when we went more than a mile apart. Note: Radios dont work well from the backside of the mountain for obvious reasons. Even 2 Watt radios seem to struggle. For the price its a great buy, but if you're looking for something more powerful I'd suggest the Topsung K-12 rated at 400 mW, or the even more powerful M-9 which is actually rated at 1.1 watt. ... show more
