The media could not be loaded. My husband is having as much fun as a kid on his new electric Hoverfly! It was easy to assemble, came well packaged, and all parts were perfect. You plug it in to charge, turn the power on, push a couple times with your feet, and it takes off. The brakes work well, the standing board is wide and stable, and overall it’s just very sturdy. It also has extra features, such as a power and speed gauge, a headlight, and a kickstand, plus it folds conveniently for storage. It really does fly, so bike helmet advised. Charging was easy, and once powered on it starts up quickly with a few pushes. The scooter has good brake response, a wide and stable stand, and is very sturdy overall. It also comes with several extra features like a battery and speedometer, a front light, and a side kickstand, and it folds up easily. A real sense of speed, and a bike helmet is recommended. This review is for the X5 model. The scooter ships almost entirely assembled. I just had to connect the (very small) cable from the control panel on the handlebar to the cable in the tiller, insert the handlebar into the tiller, and secure it with four button head cap screws, using the supplied Allen wrench. This just took a couple of minutes. After a few hours to get the battery fully charged, I was ready to ride. Note that this is not a light scooter; it folds and can be carried, but I'd hate to regularly carry it up flights of stairs. The ride quality is probably about as good as you can get with solid tires - the tires are small, but absorb some shock, and the front wheel has a spring suspension. Compared to another solid tire scooter I have - with different tires and no suspension - the X5 has a smooth ride. It's still not equal to pneumatic tires, but if you ride mostly on fairly smooth pavement, it's fine. The lights are pretty good for a scooter (see the photo with lights on), and the rear light has a brake light function, also. The single brake (a disc on the real wheel) didn't modulate very well out of the box; I had to use quite some force to get much stopping power. Perhaps its performance will improve as it's bedded in. I'd advise learning what you can expect from it before taking a fast ride in traffic. On the positive side, it didn't squeal. The control panel display is simple and bright, with large characters. It has a speedometer and odometer; it shows which of two 'gears' you have selected, and if lights are on. Below the display is the power button and a '+/-' button, which is used to change gears and turn lights on/off. Being in the center of the handlebar, you have to remove a hand from the grip to reach the switch to change gears, making it awkward to do on the fly. The throttle is the usual twist-and-go type, located next to the right hand grip. It works well. My impression so far is that the workmanship is good. Everything seems to fit and function properly. I think this model is one of the least expensive electric scooters that can be considered to be transportation more than a toy. It's a decent choice for commuting, if solid tires work on your route.
