My 13 yo some was thrilled with this Christmas morning, buying gifts for teens obsessed only with their electronics is a challenge for a mom on budget. I wanted something he could “play with” and which we could all enjoy together. He is quite experienced in RC’s and has a Traxxis already ($350), but this is a smaller scale, he was thrilled with its agility and speed and he’s hard to impress! The lights added something extra and we had more fun that night in the dark. He drives it hard and it holds up fine jumping and has flipped over at high speeds without damage. Son wanted a fast RC car for Christmas, he's always gotten the cheaper kid ones that you can drive in the house. That said, I do not recommend driving this in the house. This is wayyy faster than I expected. Considering it's a kid's toy in my house, it's also very durable too. We drive it around the neighborhood and it's fun to keep up with, very easy to control, and doesn't stop for anything. Drives over any type of terrain, it doesn't stop for grass, mud, rocks, cops....nothing. My son ran it into the trailer and it started to drive up the tire before flipping over. ... show more

This is a nice little RC truck for the money. It's really quick for it's size and 4 wheel drive allows it go over just about any terrain. Lots of little extras and spare parts come with this one too. My kids love how it light up and you can change the light colors. Battery pack last a long time on 3 each charge. My kid's were getting 25-30mins per battery... Only minor complaint is the directional trim is a little touchy to get dialed in just right. The trigger style controller makes this easy to operate. This car rips, surprisingly fast & it goes just about anywhere. Deep grass slows it down & over heats the motor but we just go around. Good range on the transmitter, we took it to the neighbors house. That's 348 yards from my house & it could have gone further when we turned & brought it back. Got this from my 8 year old son for Christmas. He's taken it through everything, mud, snow, small puddles (we live on a small farm so it's pretty rough here at times) and it's still going. That's got to be worth something. The top is not very durable though, kind of flimsy. He finally just took it off and plays with it without the car cover. There are four cotter pins that hold it on that are easily lost by kids. ... show more

Pros. Cool little rc car. 4x4, lights up, pretty quick, has upgrades, comes with some spare parts, budget friendly and Super fun... Cons. Static shocks, very bouncy. (I upgraded to oil filled shocks.) Had to rebuild the rear differential as the screw inside the differential worked itself loose by the 4th run and the left rear wheel would not spin, easy to rebuild but not something that should need to be done the 4th time taking it out and not something that someone trying to get into the hobby should NEED to do. I recommend taking the rear apart and using some loctite blue to secure the set screw. The rear diff did have a good amount of grease however, not something you see much from these budget, entry level hobby grade rc cars. Still a cool little basher though 1:14 scale Update... thus RC is complete trash... now the servo completely failed... have not got to run it a full battery yet without something breaking.... salvaged what parts i could and threw it in the garbage... im done fixing it every time i want to run it... Stay away from this RC ... show more
