New mattresses and pillows are always difficult due to the body needing time to adapt to changing posture. I have been dealing with a stiff neck for 2 years and I have been attempting to remedy it by working on my strength and posture. The first week with the pillow was difficult because it is not soft and fluffy like a traditional pillow so it’s less inviting when you hop into bed. That strangeness is why it works. It keeps my head and neck supported, stable and aligned. After 2 weeks my neck stiffness is GONE and my sleep track watch indicates I’m moving less and getting more uninterrupted sleep. For reference information I’m a 90% back and 10% side sleeper. 6 feet tall and 215lbs. I use a nasal pillow cpap mask. My advice would be to try your bast to persevere through the initial adjustment period before deciding opinions about this pillow. Visually, this thing does not look very appealing or inviting to lay your head on, but I have been sleeping like a baby since I got this thing a month ago! I don't have any real problems sleeping but I tend to get up almost nightly to use the bathroom. But that has stopped literally the first night I used this Jetsons looking thing. I'm just out, immediately. I have tried numerous types of pillows because I tend to get kinks in my neck but I have been neck kink-free for a month! I bought this pillow as I was recovering from a severely (and I mean debilitating pinched nerve in my neck that caused my left arm to lose all strength for several days, and was in excruciating pain, to the point that I thought I was having a heart attack or stroke or some other health emergency - had to see an orthopedic specialist), I used this pillow, along with other neck stretching devices and it seems to have done the trick! Can't credit the pillow entirely because how can I know it was just the pillow? But I am loving it, despite its Pontiac Aztek-of-pillows look! Like the defunct Pontiac Aztek, don't be fooled by its crazy design. IT IS SUPER ERGONOMIC. I'm loving it. 6 month update June 2023: I have been COMPLETELY neck-kink free!! I have not had one stiff neck since I bought this in Dec 2022!!! I feel confident in attributing this cervical disc relief to the funky pillow! I seldom use my neck traction device now. I sleep soundly and feel rested everyday. Even the nights that I don’t get enough hours, the hours I do get feel more solid, like I’m actually getting rest. I have to credit this pillow! Prior to this, I was prone to neck pain or stiffness more days than not. I can’t recommend this pillow enough. Worth every penny! Worth noting: I’m a back sleeper 99% of the time. The curves perfectly support my neck and the shoulder cutouts don’t put any pressure on that area and help keep my shoulders from creeping upward in a weird position at night. I have spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars on pillows and have hated most of them. Then, to top it all off, I developed Sleep Apnea. When I sleep on my back, I quit breathing until my wife wakes me up. I was desperate! No way do I want to wear a CPAP machine, so I started looking at pillows that might position my head so I can breathe. When I bought this pillow, the problem was fixed from the very first night. I know this is hard to believe, but I swear that it is the most comfortable pillow I’ve ever had, and it positions my head so I don’t have sleep apnea. Every morning, I wake up and ask if I was gasping for air and my wife says no! And my energy level is so so so much better now that I’m sleeping well. Despite warnings on the box about needing to take time to adjust to the pillow, I found the pillow to be immediately comfortable and perfectly constructed for holding my head in position while I slept on my back. After reading all the great reviews I just knew this was the answer to my prayers, however it was not to be. I'm sure that it works wonders for some but not for me. The pillow is well made, but hard, very hard and very bulky. I'm on the shorter side, hence a short neck. I was never able to get my head fully on the pillow no matter how I turned it. This said I should have returned it, instead I did something you should not. I took out my trusty electric knife and went to work on it. I cut the high wings on the side down even with the rest of the pillow. I also cut off the piece that's supposed to support your neck. It was still too high, so I took another two inches of depth off the top of the pillow. Now I have a customized pillow that somewhat works. I'm not one for sending things back. ... show more

I purchased different orthopedic-type pillow from Amazon and it took a LONG time to adjust to it. Instead of helping my neck issues, it seemed to make them worse. It was also too small. I decided to try this pillow and I've fallen in love with it. It is thicker, bigger, and has better foam than the other pillow. I go to sleep faster, and when I wake up in the morning, my neck isn't sore or feeling kinked. I adjusted to it right away. (Perhaps that is because I had already been exposed to these types of pillows.) I got the king size pillow, and I'm so happy that I did, as I have wide shoulders and am a side sleeper.
