  • Great allaround board
Size: 10ft 6"
The media could not be loaded. Before today, I had only been — briefly — on a standup paddle board twice in my life and promptly fell off. I was on this one for several hours and actually got comfortable with it, despite — as I found out later, doing just about everything wrong. This is pretty embarrassing since I have lived on lakes all my life doing every kind of water sport from slalom water skiing to sail boarding. Still do. How hard could this be? In my defense, I am pushing 75 and slowing down. Whatever. I think that I will have mastered this thing in a few days. This SUP made paddling much easier. It is wider, lighter and floatier (is that a word?) than others I have been on. In short, more stable. It is well equipped with straps and eyes where you want them. The deck is grippy and feels secure. The paddle is three-part adjustable. There is a great two-way manual pump to inflate it. (There is a little lever on the pump that switches from two-way which inflates on both the up and down strokes to one-way which inflates only on the down stroke but is more powerful.) The quality of this board comes as no surprise. I have been using HO waterskis since the early 1980’s (recommended to me by a world slalom champion.) Excellent company and products. I would want only two things that are not included in this SUP package. A leash and a battery operated inflator. Trust me, as good as the manual pump is, it is an unwanted time consuming aerobic workout to inflate the board. I ended up using a blower vac to fill it most of the way and a compressor for the final few psi. Faster and easier. Second thing that I would want is a leash. It is basic safety equipment, inexpensive and necessary. I find it troubling that, not only is it not included, the pictures on the box don’t show people using them. Enough of this boring stuff, it’s time for the entertainment! Take a look at the video of me trying out the board. Wrong position and stance on the board. No leash. Paddle facing the wrong way. Shoulders hunched forward. As they say, there’s no fool like an old fool. It’s a wonder I got anywhere. But, at the end if the day, I was feeling good about it, having fun and getting somewhere. I like it! Now, back to the board itself. It’s a welcome addition to our assorted lakeside fleet of rowboats, kayaks, sailboards and sailboats. But, we got it primarily to take with us in our tiny travel trailer, where we have no room for kayaks but still feel the need to get out on the water. This board will fit, weighs very little and can function like a sit-down kayak with double bladed paddles. Because it folds compactly and comes with a great backpack, we can hike or bike to the beach with it. It can store easily in our tow vehicle. No roof rack needed. A great solution. ... show more

  • Now this is a real SUP!
Size: 11ft 6"
I like this paddleboard because it’s big and wide! I ordered the 11’6” and I was pleased as I was unboxing it. . It feels really stable and I was confident on it the first time out. It was a bit of a workout pumping it up. I enjoyed it. It is a little difficult to get it all the way to 15psi. I found it did fine at 12 but I finally got it to 15. I may strongly consider getting a portable pump. I may not always be in the mood for a workout. The provided paddle is adequate. The board itself is top-notch. The decking looks good and feels good to stand on. There is a nice handle both front and rear. There’s also a nice bungee tie-down. That’s good to keep a dry-bag or tacklebox secured. The singular fin is large but really aids with tracking and gives a very stable feel. It has a lever-loc to secure it. I’ve only been out on it twice but I absolutely like it better than any I’ve used before. The nose of the board has a slight rise to it. It handles incoming boat wake just fine. I couldn’t be happier with this board. It’s much nicer than the one I had. I’m proud to own it. This would make a great gift for anyone into Paddleboarding. This board is a 2 thumbs up for stability, portability, quality workmanship. ... show more

  • Decent quality, does everything it's supposed to. But there are cheaper options.
Size: 10ft 6"
I've tried out 3 off-brand iSUPs from Amazon. This one was 2.5x the cost of the other two (at least at the time of my purchase), but I consider all three to be of similar quality. Like this one, they all come with kind of cheap paddles. My name brand iSUP has a much better paddle. But this set comes with a nice set of accessories and bag (again, similar to the other off-brands I have tried). If the price for this comes down to the range of other similarly spec'ed boards, then you'll be pleased. ... show more

  • A Surprisingly Stiff And Stable Paddleboard
Size: 11ft 6"
In the past I was hesitant to order an inflatable paddleboard because I had only ridden solid paddleboards before. However, I have been pleasantly surprised with the build quality and the stability of today’s inflatable paddleboards. In the water they are just about as stable as a solid board. And I like this board a lot. Now, to be honest, inflating the board to the recommended 15 PSI with the included pump is a bit of a chore. It takes a while. It will take you about 10-15 minutes or so depending on your fitness and/or energy level. However, you can get a 12-volt electric SUP air pump that you can plug into a cigarette lighter or a power station for about 100 dollars. Now, with that said, once inflated, this board is awesome! Like I said, in the water it is nearly as stable as a solid board. In fact, with this paddleboard’s length and width, I found it to be more stable than my friend’s shorter/narrower but solid paddleboard. And once this paddleboard is inflated to 15 PSI, surprisingly, it’s actually only a little less rigid than a solid paddleboard. I’m not a great stand-up paddleboarder yet, but this board will help get me there eventually. But, truth be told, I really like using this board while kneeling or sitting anyway. I just find it more enjoyable and relaxing. And besides, who wants improved balance and more core strength anyway? 😊 If you’re looking for an inflatable/portable paddleboard, I really do think this one is an excellent choice. I really like it. I recommend it highly. If you have any questions about this HO Sports Tarpon inflatable paddleboard, please feel free to ask, and I'll try my best to answer. I hope you found this review helpful. ... show more
