  • When you don't have much room
Color: Glacier Size: 14"
This is perfect for when you are very limited as far as what you are able to carry. For backpackers, this is better than nothing. It's smaller than average, so I could only recommend this seat for people who weigh 150lbs. or less.

  • Excellent stool and superb customer service!
Color: Alpenglow Size: 17"
This stool is wonderful! It’s super light, easy to step, take down and very comfortable. When the first one I got had a malfunction after 18 months, Hillsound immediately replaced it with a brand new one!

  • Compact and lightweight
Color: Glacier Size: 14"
My kid is in Scouts. We do a decent amount of camping and hiking. For camp we have the ubiquitous lightweight camp chairs. Light enough, comfortable enough, but a little time consuming to assemble and disassemble and put away. While this stool is nowhere as comfortable, it is 1/2 the weight and maybe 1/3 of the size stowed. It also deploys and stows in seconds. That is where the strength of this stool is. It fits in a water bottle holder and I strap it onto my Sotech go bag I use for a day pack for hiking and Scout events with shock cord. For hikes when the kids take a break or lunch stops I can break this out in seconds and have a place to rest. My back has seen better days and it’s nice to be able to get a load off. For moving around as the kids learn new skills, perfect. Can watch them learn from the sidelines and be ready to move when they do. Comfort is better than a rock or log, and way better than sitting on the ground. Did way enough of that. Only chair for a camp weekend? No don’t think so. Not super comfortable for extended periods of time, like hours at the campfire. I’ve sat on mine for about 1/2 hour or so and was comfortable, but switched back to regular camp chair when back at camp to relax and read and enjoy some coffee. Be great for fishing too. Move from spot to spot, have a place to perch your butt in seconds. Recommend if you realize it’s strengths and weaknesses. Really lightweight, quick to deploy and stow to rest your legs and back for shorter periods of time. Comfortable, but maybe not first choice for extended periods of time. ... show more

  • Better than a rock, how? This is how ...
Color: Glacier Size: 14"
1. Weight. Who wants to carry around a heavy rock in your pack? A rock big enough to sit on is going to weigh down your pack a lot more than this. The BTR weighs slightly less than 4 Top Ramen packages (Yes, I weighed them, lol). 2. Clean. A rock is filthy (dirt, mud, animal droppings, bugs, snow). The BTR may get a little dirty over time too, but not like a rock. You're not going to waste water cleaning off a rock. But you can get the BTR clean again when you get home. 3. Temperature. A rock in the sun is going to scorch the back of your legs and make your butt sweat. The BTR has a breathable mesh seat and it hasn't been sitting in the sun all day. Even in winter, the BTR will keep you from direct contact with the heat-stealing ground. 4. Height. A rock is low to the ground, which makes for an uncomfortable posture. The BTR gives you a more natural sitting position and height that, incidentally, is also out of the mud, bugs, etc. As someone who is older, it's also easier for me to stand up from a BTR than from a rock. 5. Comfort. Rocks poke your butt. The BTR mesh seat cradles it. Which do you want after a long walk? It's not a lounge chair, but doesn't need to be. Note for women: sitting on it with one of the seat's triangle points between your legs won't press anything awkwardly, even if you lean forward a little. Men may need to exercise a little more caution. 6. Packability. The BTR easily fits in the side pocket of my Osprey Ariel, or can hang off a clip strap threaded through the legs, for easy access. It also fits comfortably into the detachable lid/fanny pack for little side strolls. I can even carry it in some of my larger tote-sized purses. You could probably put this in a bag to take to a dance class, so you had somewhere to sit afterwards, instead of the floor. 7. Versatility. You can use the BTR as a makeshift small camera mount. Turn the BTR upside down. Attach something like a SMALLRIG Super Clamp to one of the legs. Weigh the seat down with something heavy, like your water bottle. And there you have a mount that you can perch on a surface to get that group photo or night time-lapse. Shipping to me was a full 8 days earlier than the Amazon estimate, by US mail, during the COVID-19 pandemic and the 2020 election timeframe. That's pretty impressive. It's a good value for the money I paid, and I'm glad I bought it. ... show more

  • Mine broke After 10 hours approximately
Color: Black Size: 14"
Plastic rivet holding the new seat fabric came undone or broke. So when I sat down the legs splayed out and broke the leg connections as well. I sat in this chair for approximately 10 hours. I was using it for spot in stock hunting which involves sitting on the stool for many hours looking through a spotting scope and binoculars. Unfortunately I will buy the same one again because the weight is extremely critical for 10 mile plus hikes. I will no longer use it for casual camping. Too fragile, so this is essentially a single use item for me now. ... show more
