This lightweight, compact camping and backpacking chair packs smaller and weighs less than a bottle of wine. The Helinox Chair One Camping Chair measures 4 x 4.5 x 14 inches packed in its included bag, and weighs 2.10 pounds making it super portable for easy transport. The collapsible chair’s frame is made from proprietary aluminum alloy, for a maximum strength-to-weight ratio, and supports up to 320 pounds. The removable chair seat and zippered carrying case are made from ultra-durable, UV- resistant, 600-weave, rip-stop polyester that holds up to harsh weather and the sun’s rays. Both the chair seat and the carry sack are easily machine washable (line dry). Setup is easy and fast thanks to a single internal bungee cord that self-assembles the poles. The assembled chair has a seat height of 10 inches, seat width of 21.5 inches, seat depth of 20 inches, and overall height of 25.5 inches. I just completed a tour of Florida on my Surly Long Haul Disc Trucker. The helinox chair, shown here deployed at camp, fit perfectly on the bike’s front rack. Every day I deployed the chair and stowed it which allowed me to appreciate the great design of this chair. The ease of assembly and disassembly was much appreciated. The light weight and comfort of this chair was and is critical to meet my needs. Well done Helinox. One bit of advice to buyers is to consider purchasing the add-on “ball feet” because the default feet sink in loose soil such as in a forest floor. The default feet are great on hard surfaces and I don’t consider this a flaw of the chair. It’s just that you will need more surface area on the feet to avoid sinking in soft ground. ... show more

A thing of beauty, engineered to very high standard made with exceptional materials. I am surprised this is available at such a low price. Purchased this last week for the Gathering Of The Vibes Festival, a four day event running day and night. After connecting a shoulder strap to this extremely light weight setup I was able to carry it twelve hours a day with zero fatigue, it is so light and compact it becomes nearly invisible on the shoulder.O The chair sets up in thirty seconds and folds back into its pack in the same time. The comfort is exceptional, I was about the event sitting for hours at a time in total comfort, perfect height, tall seating position totally awesome. The beautiful materials and craftsmanship make it beautiful to handle and look at as well, just top quality all the way. In a world of second rate products, this stands as 100% first rate at arguably half what it should cost. I'm ordering a second. Just finished another four day concert camping event, chair sets up and takes down in 30 seconds, weighs next to nothing. Very comfortable, sit, slouch, stretch or lean back. When in the bag its about the size of a rolled Sunday newspaper. Bag is a snug fit, but I get my cell, sunscreen, cash and keys easily in. I added a shoulder strap to mine. My husband and I enjoy going kayak camp at boat only access sites. The biggest challenge of kayak camping is that everything has to fit in the front and back storage areas of our kayaks, (not a lot of room). With the help of other reviewers here on Amazon, we have found some fantastic things perfect for backpackers or kayak campers, (tiny lantern that put out more light than our full sized lantern, small utensils for cooking/cleaning, smaller sized "nesting" cookware, etc). There was only one thing I felt I was missing ... I love to read, and wished I could find some sort of small camping chair. I almost didn't bother looking, because I figured there was no way I'd find something that was comfortable AND small enough to fit in the kayak storage compartment along with everything else we already had. I'm so glad that I looked!!! This chair is a miracle of engineering - it's super light, folds up really small, and is surprisingly comfortable to sit in! My hubby is a big guy, (approx 250 pounds) and I was a little dubious about their claim that this chair can hold up to 300 pounds, (I was even more dubious when the chair arrived - it was so light that I couldn't imagine it holding more than a child's weight). We were scared to even sit in the thing at first, but it held our weight then and we've had absolutely no issues or concerns with it during the half dozen or so trips we taken so far this summer. The chair can be packed away so small because the entire frame of the chair, (the blue legs and support areas of the chairs we bought) all break down, (you just pull the legs out of the black connecting pieces, and you end up with a bundle of same sized pieces of tubing, (kinda like tent poles). The seat just slides off and can be rolled up and put in the same small carry bag as the frame poles. (I wish I could explain this better ... hopefully there will be someone with more of an engineering background who can explain it more clearly.) I also hesitated on buying this chair because of the cost, (not cheap!) but it has been worth every penny! We can fit both chairs, (broken down into carrying/storage) in the front, (smaller) storage area of one kayak, along with our nesting cookware set and 2 blow up mattress, (which are also very small once they are rolled up and put into storage/carrying bag.
