I am a novice and this was my first time ever welding so I know a lot of the issues I’ve had was from lack of experience. The welding itself was good, rod was sticking a lot but once u get the ark going it’s easy to maintain. Only big issue I had was the provided protection, the mask kinda sucks to use and I had to make a strap for it to keep on my face so I don’t hold it, and I’m not sure if it was purposely suppose to come with two right handed gloves but I would have like the comfort of having both left and right for both hands. ... show more

I was impressed for the price . It worked great and got my part welded . Wet simple to use and setup. Get yourself a welding helmet because the welding mask provided is of poor design .

Easy to practice on and fun to use. The helmet is junk so pick up a better one for your own safety - but this is a fun and effective little unit and great fencing repairs and repairs. Fine what it can do the price is excellent.

It took me a full welding rod to get used to the 48% duty cycle. Easy to plan for and it worked perfect. Since it passed my test, it needed to be flat black like all my other tools. As I took it apart I noticed a failed positive wire connection at the rocker switch. The welder still worked as it was making a connection but I repaired nevertheless. Those sneaky Chinese. I don't expect much from a Chinese welder (especially at this price) but I do expect it to work when I use it right out of the box. When I took it apart (some of the screws were stripped) I found that one of the connections to the power switch wasn't even connected. On close up view it looks like the wiring connection was mangled. I was able to repair it and reconnect. Tested it and verified that it works. The space is very tight and I saw that the other wires were in awkward angles. If you decide to get this make sure to check it and learn from this review. The gloves are passable but I'd rather not use it. The pitiful excuse for a shield/mask was readily discarded. I don't even want to deal with the rods they included. All in all it's okay for small home projects and gets the job done. ... show more
