🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

Based on a variety of user experiences, the pool vacuum in question appears to deliver on its primary function of keeping pools clean, with particular commendation for its ability to pick up leaves, sticks, and dirt effectively. Satisfactory performance has been noted in both ease of assembly and maintenance, with its design allowing it to reach every corner and cover extensive areas of the pool. However, some users have encountered issues with the vacuum's ability to climb walls and its efficiency in picking up certain types of debris.

Pros

  • 🌟 Excellently cleans corners and about 2 feet up the sides of the pool
  • 🌀 Effective at picking up a range of debris, including leaves and sticks
  • 💪 Low maintenance and easy to assemble
  • 🌈 Has a built-in "memory" system to optimize cleaning paths over time
  • 🚀 Suitable for a variety of pool sizes and types

Cons

  • 🧗‍♂️ Struggles to climb walls for some users, depending on pool type and vacuum model
  • 🍂 May require manual intervention for large debris or challenging pool shapes
  • 🔊 Some models produce noise that can be bothersome, impacting nighttime operation
  • ⚙️ Assembly can be tricky, with some reports of missing instructions for certain parts

Should I Buy It?

If you're in need of a reliable pool cleaner that specializes in bottom cleaning and has a high capacity for picking up various types of debris, this vacuum seems to be a strong choice. However, if your pool requires consistent wall cleaning or handles a lot of large debris, you might want to consider options or be prepared for some manual assistance. With the majority of users reporting satisfaction and improved pool cleanliness, it might well be worth the investment for those seeking an efficient and low-maintenance solution.

  • Efficient cleaner, does pool floor & walls, easy assembly, good buy
Style: 2x Gray (W3PVS20GST)
Efficient cleaner, does pool floor and walls. On some walls it falls off halfway up depending on the pump speed set. But often it goes straight up to clean the tile line. Once it hits air it falls back down in 6-10 seconds. The air-sucking sound can be a little annoying so I don't run it at night. It seems like the longer I have it the better it gets the walls, like its learning the pool area more with time. I have a variable speed pump. I upgraded this to 5 stars now that I've had it two years. It works even at lower pump speeds like 1700 rpm. At first it focused on deep end. But I "retrained" it by pulling it to shallow end. Once it got the route down it was fine. It has some kind of built-in memory system. So far it picks up leaves and dirt with no problem, without getting clogged. Very pleased so far. It doesn't get steps or in-pool seats but I can live with that. Only needed 7 of the 10 hoses. It never gets stuck. I have an Avg size inground rectangle pool = about 11'x 30' , 5' deep with side suction port in about the middle. Did not use or need supply bag with control valve, etc. Good product so far. Sometimes it gets carried away with the wall cleaning. Recently it cleaned the tile and broke the air surface 3 times in 60 seconds. That's unusual. It makes this air suction sound when it does but it keeps it clean. But I adjust the valve to more skimmer and less vacuum and that solves that. I still have a pool maintenance crew come out weekly but they notice how the pool stays cleaner. ... show more

  • Reaches every corner!
Style: 4-Wheel
This is my third pool vacuum. The first two I was very happy with, but they broke down over time. (1) The Hayward Navigator needed regular maintenance and just quit working after a few years. But I was very happy with it. (2) The Viper Creepy Crawley worked great with no maintenance for many years, although plastic pieces broke off, it continued to work great. But the Hayward W3PVS40GST Poolvergnuegen is far superior in cleaning and reaches every corner! It's the first time I've been able to get the corners and about 2 feet up the sides of the pool. I'm very satisfied! ... show more

  • Best vacuum I have purchased
Style: 4-Wheel
I have had nothing but issues with every vacuum I have put in my pool. A friend suggested a sweep similar to this one. Once the current sweep I had needed repairs, I decided to purchase a new one. After a month of researching new sweeps, I purchased this sweep. After getting it put together correctly, this thing works great. It has picked up leaves and sticks with no issues yet. My pool is cleaner than it has been in years and I do not have to babysit the sweep every night to make sure it’s not stuck thinking about picking up a grain of dirt. The only issue I had was the swivel was not fully assembled. It came with a white ring and a blue ring, but was not identified in the instructions. I watched a few videos to see if I could figure it out and found these rings keep the swivel attached to the housing. If they are not installed, the swivel sucks down agains the turbine and causes a massive vibration. The rings have to be pressed on and do take some good force to get them seated. I am very happy with the sweep so far and it sounds like very low maintenance, longer intervals between having to maintenance the sweep. ... show more

  • Works great
Style: 4-Wheel
It took a little time to put together, but not difficult. Works very well. Good suction- Picks up all the debris from the bottom of the pool. Does NOT climb walls- it tries, then just stalls at the bottom of wall until it gives up and moves on. They give you hints on how to create more section to get to climb the wall, I tried all of those, but it does not work. ... show more

  • Cleans Pool very well
Style: 2x Gray (W3PVS20GST)
Bought this pool cleaner to replace a three year old, rebel pool cleaner that quit working. I have an inground pool with pebble tech finish on the plaster. Pool is a free form rock scape pool and is roughly 20‘ x 40‘. The pool cleaner with two wheels works great at keeping the pool clean. Only complaint is that it does not climb the walls. ... show more

  • It works with an pool with 2 oak trees hanging over it!
Style: 2x Gray (W3PVS20GST)
I came on here just to rate this pool cleaner...it's great! I have wrestled with my outdoor pool, especially since the oaks near it have grown larger and hang over the pool. Lots of little sticks falling into pool and no other pool vacuum has worked like this one. It got great reviews and I'm adding to them because it's really true. (Not very trusting of 5 star reviews on Amazon) But this is definitely worth the money. I still have to pull little sticks or too many leaves out of the opening but as soon as I do, it takes right off again. ... show more

  • Will not climb the pool walls.
Style: 4-Wheel
This sweep will not climb the pool walls no matter how I set pressure, weights, etc. I have a variable speed pump and adjustable valves for the pool sweep port, and this is the 4-wheel drive model. Gave it recommended pressure, wouldn't go up. Gave it maximum pressure, wouldn't go up. Tried everything. This sweep also would not pick up sand debris that blew in last night. It was working on it all day (6 hours) and still didn't clean it up. Had yellow algae on the walls that I never had with my old pool sweep, a G3. I replaced it today with a new G3 like the old one I had. The G3 worked great right away. It cleaned walls to the water surface, and cleaned the debris this one missed in less than an hour. I don't really like the chug-chug of the G3, but it works! I would like to get my money back, but have been trying to make this one work for more than a year. I just had my pool re-marcited and hoped that would help, but it didn't. I finally gave up. ... show more

  • Replaced the original...
Style: 2x Gray (W3PVS20GST)
So I was looking to replace my original pool cleaner. I'm the kind of person that tried to stick with what works and this is what was in the pool when I purchased the house. Original unit had stripped gears and some aging. I replaced. Got a new unit, hoses, etc. I have a suction port in the side of the pool wall so this guy just plugs right in. No issues. Crawls around and sucks up the small debris. If you have large leaves it will get "clogged" so maybe this is not for you. It keeps all the loose things from the bottom of the pool. Kinda pricy if you asked me but again.. I was going for "what works" and not really the price. A pool is expensive and $400 for a sweeper every 5 years is nothing compared to ... say.. chlorine tabs. ... show more
