I broke off a shower arm in the wall and did not know how I would remove the threads left in the fitting in the wall. I found this extractor on amazon. It extracted the end of the arm in 10 minutes, truly a life saver. It also comes with a tap to clean up the threads in the fitting if needed.

The extractor that I've used so far worked well in removing one screw. The plastic box that they came in is made of molded plastic and is fine for holding them. But the clear plastic 'window' that occupies most of the top of the box was lying inside the box when it arrived, and will not now stay in place. Only used it one time so far. The 3/4" extractor needs an adjustable wrench. Won't take a 3/4" open end wrench. Storage box is cheap. So much so that it didn't survive the shipping.

It was EXACTLY what I needed. The extractors are sized well to increase in diameter from tip to base and from smallest to largest. Thus I was able to grab hold of and removed the corroded pipe nipple broken off in the thread without damaging the thread and then install the plug to seal the leak. Problem solved. ... show more

I'm sure it's a great product (I haven't used it yet), but it's too large for what I need. The 3 larger ones I would never use they're just too large for what I do. The other ones are too small.
