  • Best low gain overdrive I’ve ever heard
This pedal has the sound that’s been missing from my guitar rig. I’ve spent thousands on pedals over the years but at last I finally have the perfect low gain overdrive. The build quality is perfect, and it came with stickers and a gravity pick! I use it as an always on pedal and control the gain with the volume control on the guitar. Sounds great on my tele and works equally well with humbucker guitars. It also sounds amazing boosted or stacked with other dirt pedals. I have a Seymour Duncan 805 overdrive and Earthquaker Devices Cloven Hoof fuzz that always sounded like they had a blanket over them, and with the Lightspeed in front it adds a presence to them both, and they sound huge. Was going to sell them, the Lightspeed changed that. You knocked it out of the park Greer! I’d like to thank Chicago Music Exchange for being an awesome company. I always get my stuff on time and got a cool goody bag of stuff with it. Top notch. ... show more

  • Great Sounding Transparent Overdrive
This is a great sounding pedal, especially for mild, transparent overdrive. The best I’ve heard, actually. I like the Fulltone OCD for a little more drive, but this one could stay on all the time for my classic blues-rock style with a Strat. I have read a criticism that it boosts the bass frequencies; maybe it does a hair (like 1/2dB) but it’s so negligible it doesn’t even matter to me. ... show more

  • Great pedal. Extremely organic
Great pedal. Extremely organic, very natural. Not high gain but very usable for me. Not the most impressive case in the world but sturdy enough and I bought it for the sound.

  • This will not let you travel at the speed of light...but!
Sweet baby Jesus on a lawn mower, this thing is awesome! I'm so glad I grabbed it. It can add a thin layer of OD or a hefty amount. This thing is rock solid! It's not like "run it over with your car" rock solid, but it will gladly take some hefty stompage from a 250+ man in the throws of music battle. ... show more

  • GREAT Pedal
My tone quest has ended. This is a GREAT transparent overdrive. It reacts / responds the way your amp does, meaning it has great pick-attack response. Very organic. I play a Vox AC30 (which can be picky with overdrive / distortion pedals). Not this one. I also play a double-fat / big-apple strat with it. Big fan of this pedal. It was worth the price. Plus, it has a lifetime warranty for the owner. Can't say enough good. ... show more

  • A keeper...
Some pedals you know within minutes are going to be one of your favorites. The Lightspeed is not for players seeking high gain, as it's a low gain overdrive/boost which provides a fantastic natural warmth. But it also sounds great as the base for stacking overdrives. I never turn it off.

  • This thing works great!
This will be a permanent fixture on my pedal board. Watch the video's on YouTube, they don't lie. Worth every penny and a lifetime guarantee. It will definitely wake up your amp.

  • Chose this over Timmy, Morning Glory and Archer
I've tried this pedal for mild-drive/clean boost compared to my old Timmy, the Morning Glory and the Archer. This pedal ended up being my favorite. The tone signature of the gain circuit is the closest to my tele straight into my amp of any pedal I've used. A lot of pedal makers can get the "clean boost" thing right, but when you touch their gain circuit you lose the sound of your guitar. Not here. There's a bit of low freq distortion that gives you a low bump, but it's more like a low bump on a tape machine. So many mild-drive gain circuits get really mid-rangy -- fine if that's what you're after -- but I wanted to keep the guitar and amp tone and just drive it. This pedal does that in spades. If you're trying to make your guitar or amp sound like something it's not, this may not be the right choice, but if you like your guitar and amp and just want to drive them to break up, this is the most faithful way of doing that I've found. ... show more
