We bought this saw because I want to cut down smaller trees to maintain property lines, and cut small amounts of firewood. This saw is light enough that I can handle it without too much fatigue. And still cut big enough things down so my husband doesn't have to get out his big gas saw to trim little things for me. The batteries last a decent amount of time. Tried out my first one of these and loved it. That is until I discovered it leaked chain oil, not out of the plug or chain oil outlet, but through the seal in the split case. I loved the way it cut wood, even large pieces. I didn't think a battery-powered saw could do that. So I made use of Amazon's easy return policy and ordered a second one. That one has cut lots of branches, limbs, and logs now and only a small bit of oil leaks from the chain oiler after sitting overnight. That's normal for any chainsaw. Would have given it 5 stars if Greenworks had better quality control on what gets shipped out. Keep trying until you get a good one! ... show more

Arrived on time and in great condition. Very easy to use (like most battery-powered tools) and does a great job on timber up to about 10” in diameter. Have not tackled larger jobs, or those that might require hours of continuous use, but for quicker jobs within its 14” limits, a great tool. Tried the product and really liked the proformance. The 2.5 AH battery did not last very long however. Tried a generic 6AH battery and it did not last as long as the Greenworks 2AH. will keep looking for a longer lasting battery. The saw itself is great!! Like how quiet it is and how lightweight it is. Will be great for limbing downed trees if I can find a longer lasting battery. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Oh Mylanta! I have been trying to get these Cascara trees out of my field for years with a heavy chainsaw I could only work an hour at a time! With the new GREENWORKS chainsaw look what I accomplished in twenty minutes! I dropped three trees! Yahoozoes

I love this little chain saw... it does the job and does it well! But no matter HOW you set it down... it will leak chain lubricant. I've learned to store it on a trash bag. Also, tighten those nuts every few logs... it has a tendency to vibrate those loose.

If you want a simple and basic chainsaw this is it. Don’t expect to cut down big trees but more bushes small trees. Doesn’t have the power compared to other battery chainsaws but it works.

    • Great saw. It doesn't work well on small 1/4" branches, But that is not what I bought it for.

I said great saw and it is for me. I am 70 years old and about 120 pounds so I did want a light weight chain saw. We had a bad storm and several trees came down. Some of the branches were 6" diameter, so I asked my husband if I could get this. He had a crew cut the trees into large sections and I started on the big branches. It cut very easily, and about the time the battery stopped, I needed a break anyway. I tend to over work myself, so this is a good thing. I am very happy with this saw. ... show more
