  • Just what we needed!
Our sliding doors needed some love. Got some wood filler for scratches (dang dog won't stop pawing at them) .. repainting them this weekend... and got these super easy films to keep the morning sun at bay. Its obnoxiously bright in the morning. Priced fairly compared to similar products, delivered in 2 days, and went on the windows in a about 30 minutes. It took me more time to clean the windows and trim them to size than actually hanging them. The most annoying part is cutting the film. By far. If you have the space to do it, roll out as much as you need and cut with an additional 1/2 inch-to-full-inch around perimeter. Begin to hang from left to right... I use a small silicone spatula to push into small gap where glass and wood meet. My advise for install: if you think your windows are too wet... add more. (Sidenote: you dont need the solution.. its literally the same as filling a pitcher with a gallon of water and adding a few droplets of any liquid soap. I used dial. I've used [even less] dawn dish soap with past films].) Its important to clean the windows before you put the film on. Literally one dog hair will create a giant bubble. You can easily avoid this by adequately watering your window. The more water you add, the easier the film slips around and maneuvers into place. The more you add, the easier it is for hair or debris to slip to the bottom and come out. The more you add the less likely you are to end up with air bubbles and imperfections. A squeagy is highly recommended. Sure you could find an alternative tool, but the squeagy just does it perfectly and easily. Also a box opener with a fresh blade will help make it an easy process. I can see out clearly and can't see in from outside unless I press my nose to the glass lol I noticed some reviewers mentioning distortion but I haven't had the displeasure of that myself. So I highly recommend! ... show more

  • Great product
Size: 48" x 212"
Keeps thr neighbors from looking in all day long lol much cooler with the film, have privacy during the day. Since it's rubber it's a little harder to cut while up but still a great product, better than the other cling out there as it has glue and you have to scrape to get it off

  • Easy to install
Size: 24" x 82"
This static cling film was fairly easy to install. Trimming was a little tricky, but maybe my blade was not sharp enough. As others noted in reviews, if you look at the film a certain way, there is some distortion but the benefits outweigh this minor issue. I suppose a more expensive film would be more clear, but for this price point, it is a good product. ... show more

  • You have to have this!
Size: 24" x 82"
I live in New York where there are tint laws. It goes on like any tint. But is alot more forgiving. I have this on my cars, and when I have it's inspection due, I just peel off, lay out on towels. Get the inspection done. And re apply after. And ever tinted my company trucks. This should be everyone's choice when it comes to tint. After 3 days, and sitting in the sun. CLEAR!!! I also recommend for your home. Sofar I saved 20% on my summer electricity bill from year after year. ... show more

  • Not for me
Size: 24 in x 212 in
Tried to use on house windows. Too light. Real hard to install even with window out laying flat because it has no flex at all making it real hard to cut. Its very rubbery. Expected but, thats why its hard to work with. Maybe measure exactly then cut with scissors before applying. It does come right off. It doesnt kink or cause a problem when it sticks to itself. I've tinted alot of house windows....not for me. ... show more

  • Lots of visual distortion
This product is easy enough to use and apply, however the view in my opinion is quite noticeably visually distorted. This distortion is part of the product itself (not the application) as it has a slight texture and in some places streaks within the film. I was hoping the visual distortion was only due to the application and would clear up as it dried, but they have been up on the window now for more than a week. I'm disappointed as I wanted to use these in my sunroom... But now the view is so distorted. I will be returning this and going with a different product. It's hard to capture the distortion in a picture, but it is quite noticeable in personal. If you look at the edge of the pool which is smooth and round you can see some distortion. The window on the left has the film and the window on the right does not. ... show more

  • Window sunglasses!
Wanted something that would dim the light but still be able to see outside when we want, this seemed the best value for a smoke tint that would achieve the balance. Now we can close the blinds and get the bedroom quite dark (like a cloudy day) for sleeping after the night shift but still be able to open the blinds and let light in/see outside when we're awake. Photo is after installing while it was 20°F outside with 1' of snow on the ground reflecting the sun from the everywhere... Applied on the West window, obviously the North window shown doesn't have any tint yet, the difference in person is even more dramatic as the light coming in the North window is making the shade brighter from the inside. You don't have to buy the solution and probably don't need the kit: other than a clean rag to wipe the window everything I used is in my other photo (that's a plastic drywall blade, anything with around a 4" edge would work, even a card from your wallet but I did cut my drywall tool some as I used it to hold the edge while I cut so choose wisely). I did remove my window locks with a screwdriver to make it easier to trim against the edge but that's optional. The solution will look better so if you're installing in a living room or something guests will see up close it's probably worth it, Amazon had this film cheaper than the hardware store but I did see the solution was cheaper at the store. DIY solution info: https://askinglot.com/can-you-apply-gila-window-film-with-water next summer I think we'll replace the screen with pet screen to add just a little more darkening on the lower window. Good luck! P.S. I'm here buying more for the home office (behind the monitors gets really bright sometimes)! ... show more
