This thing is good for short day trips all the way through month long treks. It’s light and small and you can fit it in or on any size pack. It’s also quick to setup. I leave mine on the outside of my pack to change socks or into stream crossing mocs. It’s also perfect for camp,it lacks a back rest of course so I just put it near a tree.the weight savings and size lead me to choose this over ultra lite chairs and for my purposes I’m glad I did. ... show more

Purchased this item for its compactness. Camping use and travel. Upfront this is what I was looking for in a portable take anywhere seat. The rotational aspect is a plus. Certainly appears and feels very robust. The tricky part is putting the seat on the legs. You do need a little strength, and you have to do that every time as you cannot fold it up with seat installed. It will get easier as you develop your technique and the fabric probably gives a little over time. So far I am pleased. ... show more

I was in the market for a small, swivel stool for photography and scouting while using a tripod, and decided to buy this one in spite of some critical reviews about comfort and quality. My previous swivel stool was heavy and took up most of my pack, this one is half the size of that, and it's comfortable and well made. I'm 6' tall and 200 pounds for reference. One thing that would make this product better would be one or two legs with another section to extend for uneven ground, but I can't deduct a star for that. I'm going to try to scavenge my old swivel stool for that. I'm super happy now that I can fit both my tripod and swivel stool in my day pack :) ... show more

I really really want to like this chair... However... It is super lightweight. Unlike what is written in a lot of the reviews I looked at before buying, I find that the chair is not difficult to put together. There are three slots/holes that the base poles go into. Two have finger pulls on them and it was pretty easy to figure out that you insert a pole into the hole without a finger pull first and then do the other two. Is it "easy?" No, but it's not hard either. Once the first pole is in you use the finger pulls to insert the other two. This makes the chair very sturdy. I'm sold on that. (check) Again, unlike what some others have said, I find the bag to be well constructed. The material is lightweight, but sturdy. There is a strap with loops along the side where you could attach things with carabiners (nice touch). (check 2) That all said, what surprised me (because I didn't see a single review that mentioned it) is how uncomfortable the chair is. Sitting on it makes you feel like you are being stabbed once in the crotch and twice in the butt. I feel like some type of padding could have been added to the seat to make it more comfortable. I am going to try to see if putting my inflatable Klymit seat cushion helps, but I feel like that defeats the purpose and causing me to bring two things (more weight) for something that I just want one of. Ultimately, what I really wanted was the Byer of Maine Tri-Lite folding stool, but that isn't made anymore. I was hoping this would meet my needs, but I do not believe it does without some modifications. No one wants to be stabbed in the groin and butt after hiking all day. ... show more

I use this while hunting. All other compact tripod chairs do not permit you to swivel. This one does, effortlessly, silently, and sturdily! Set up is quick; stowage compact. It’s also a great height for glassing off your knees. It’s like a tripod for your entire body. A+

I'm sure this is an awesome seat for many use cases. However I'm disabled and bought this because I wanted something very lightweight and packable to take with me for when I need to sit. What I didn't realize from the description and reviews is that it takes a great deal of strength to put the seat onto the three metal prongs. Maybe it'd break in over time, but this doesn't suit my needs since I'd need someone else to assemble it for me every time I wanted to sit down. So, just wanted to let people know that is probably great for backpacking and hiking and so on, but if you need seating for disability or chronic illness, you may want to look elsewhere. ... show more
