This was my first air fryer in Sept 2021, and I started using it more and more, until now it's what I mainly use to cook chicken, salmon, panko shrimp, etc. It is a bit big and bulky, but otherwise I like the basket design with a handle that brings all the cooked items out easily. I like having the ability to pause the cooking and change the temp & time, then continue the cooking process. I've never used the pre-sets, so can't comment on them. I looked up cooking times and temps on the internet and wrote them down on a piece of paper which I refer to every time. The included recipe book gave me two recipes that I use often. The only problem now, after nearly four years of regular use, is that the cooking basket has lost much of its non-stick surface and I'm thinking of buying a new one. ... show more

    • Fun new toy for your kitchen, but will today's air fryer be yesterday's bread machine?
I can't compare this to other air fryers, because this is the first one I've owned. But so far, we've made chicken wings, breaded zucchini bites, and french fries. The basket in this air fryer is pretty large, but we've avoided filling it up, to promote air circulation. French fries are definitely not the same as your typical fast food french fry. But they're still pretty darn good. Chicken wings come out nice and crisp, especially if you coat them in potato starch before cooking. Then, you can glaze them with your choice of sauces. The cleanup is VERY easy - nothing seems to stick to the basket or the pan - they both wash clean with a very light rinse. The air fryer itself is not completely intuitive - as with most air fryers, you're supposed to pause the cook cycle during cooking and remove the basket to shake the food around so it cooks evenly. The instruction manual doesn't really tell you how to pause for shaking. It just says to slide the pan out and the fryer will automatically power back up when you slide it back in. We used the Start/Stop button to pause the air fryer for shaking, and then had to push the button again once we put the pan back in the air fryer. This is a pretty big machine, so it doesn't fit easily into a standard kitchen cabinet shelf. So, be prepared to have it take up some real estate on your kitchen counter, or find a place for it in a closet/pantry like we did. ... show more

This is an amazing product and has helped the wife make dinner and helped me feed our kids when she's not home. The best things to make are Trader Joe's hash browns. They taste just like McDonald's. We've had this for close to two months and it hasn't crapped out and the basket has not rusted. We typically line the basket with foil and use a third party rack we bought on Amazon to fry stuff. Cleanup is easy and food is made faster and crispier than before. Excellent for those Pizza hut leftovers or chicken nuggets, too. Thanks GoWise. Definitely used more than our Instant Pot, which I consider more of a faddish buy. We never crocked pot much before but we definitely used our toaster oven, which now resides in the garage. ... show more

Have only reheated french fries, top sirloin, and did some open faced ham and cheese sandwiches but so far its great 👍. Very user friendly. Love to be able to adjust time and temperature with ease. Fits right in with other appliances.

Wow! One of the best buys that I have ever made! I have used the GoWISE USA GW22735 5.8-Quart 8-in-1 Air Fryer XL, QT, White almost every night since I purchased it. I have made buffalo wings, baked fish, grilled pork chops, grilled steaks, roasted chicken, fried chicken, french fries, I can just keep going on an on. I can honestly say, it is like tasting food for the first time. Everything is cooked to perfection. I work 10 hour days and do not want to come home and slave over a stove. With this unit, you just pop it in, turn it on and go. There is nothing that I am not going to try! Pros: Very fast cooking. Light weight unit Easy to clean It reminds very much of a convection oven Cons: My mind works 24 hours a day thinking of of all of the possibilities that I have with this unit.
