It is not recommended for lifting applications. For lifting, use a self-locking winch. D-L winches are not to be used as hoists for lifting, supporting, or transporting people, or for loads over areas where people could be present.

This boat wench is of a very nice quality and fit my 20 ft boat trailer well. The handle easily is removed, hence I bought a spare. I recommend this to anyone looking for a top notch trailer/boat wench.

Had the Chinese version of this winch and it started rusting pretty fast and the ratchet never worked well. I finally decided to move up some bucks and by the Made in USA Dutton-Lainson DL3200A. I put them side by side and wow what a difference. The main drive gear is massive stack of hardened teeth and frame is 1/4 inch steel with some kind of wonder plating of theirs. Yes it is more money but the value is worth it. I did buy the Fulton strap for it since it does not come with the strap. ... show more

    • This winch’s is so Easy to use the handles are removable you don’t need a tool.
I use it to pull up trusses for a pole barn and I save my self a lot money I don’t have to rent a forklift and I’m so happy.
